Discussion: Santorum On Border Deal: ‘The President Clearly Is Not A Winner’

“Not a complete rout for the Dems…” Really? Pelosi might as well have said, “Not one penny MORE for the wall.” “Wall” funding had ALREADY BEEN OFFERED, and what Trump got was LESS than the last offer. Also, 55 miles is a LOT less than the great, big beautiful wall from sea to “shiny” sea that he promised on the trail.

To be clear, Democrats have said ad nauseum that they are on board with border security. And they did get a reduction in detention beds… and the money is MOSTLY for repairs and updates to existing barriers. To his credit, Santorum is clearly no Trump fan, but the Democrats LARGEST concern was that there would NOT be another shut-down. Trump doubled down on how he would get his wall. He failed… tremendously. His telegraphing of emergency funds rings hollow and will face significant pushbacks from BOTH parties.

To rephrase his Beto comment, “This may very well be the end of his re-election campaign.”

Yes, another question that has needed asking for years. Why do the Sunday yakking head programs week after week book 9 of 10 slots with REPUGS vs Democrats.

The only value I can see here is having a conservative Republican (Santorum) call out Trump for what he is -a loser - while his Administration tries to wildly spin this as a win.

Holy shit 12 years since he was in office and he still gets asked about this! No wonder it doesn’t seem like 12 years!

And here’s another dumb shit that needs to join Santorum out of office.

I agree with Santorum. Now, can anyone explain why this guy’s opinion is news? Is it because he used the word “loser”?

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just road spike the border to puncture the tires of all those big trucks loaded with drugs that just drive across the border? Like the one Trump thinks is how drugs are smuggled into the country?

It would be better and probably cheaper to keep doing what we’re doing that’s already catching a lot and then start treatment programs to reduce the demand.

BWAAAAAAhahahahahahahahaha

Well points to you Santorum. hahahahaha You finally got the obvious.

while it would be interesting if it were to be done in earnest - kinda doubt it

more likely the only thing that could happen would be a shill - like the “Washington Generals” to the Harlem Globetrotters - a patsy that Trump could blow past to simply show a pattern of landslide victories.
But who would be willing to play along with this charade? Flake? Corker? Thune? Kasich? Romney? … no … they are smart enough to not engage in such a farce … besides - what if they started to make a real contest of it … no . it would have to be somebody really repulsive - Santorum would do … LePage might - except he would be too cartoonish & an obvious fraud.

We can’t just keep on keeping on, the American public always demands newer shinier keeping on.
