Discussion for article #245266
“Trump brings Santorum … onstage” That’s gross. How can you even print that? These GOPers are just total pervs.
Hilarious! You could not make this kind of buffoonery up. A pity Kim Davis wasn’t included to bring the psychotic mess to full complement.
The capacity for self-abnegation and humiliation that these two sad sacks possess is apparently bottomless. All that’s left for them is to get down on all fours and let Trump mount them symbolically.
Why? Why would they go onstage at Trump’s event to kiss his ass and humiliate themselves? Are they that desperate to be his VP choice? (Sorry, just threw up in my mouth a little bit at the thought of that ticket - Trump-Santorum '16! Or Trump-Anyone for that matter.)
It looks like Trump purposely missed the main event so he could have a seat at the kiddie table. What kind of loser candidate would want to associate themselves with Huck and Rick?
I’m sorry, but this is the only visual metaphor that’s really appropriate to the situation, the osculum infame with which people who’ve sold their souls for earthly power greet their master:

Future Cabinet Members in the Trump Administration:
Secretary of Christianity, Mike Huckabee
and
Secretary of Sex Acts, Rick Santorum.
Now that IS a scholarly reference.
You must have some of that there liberal arts edumacation we’ve heard about.
Either that, or I learned about it, let us say, more directly. I could tell you more but then I’d have to turn you into a newt.
Pretenders all…
I thought SNL aired on Saturday.
It gets worse. Lawrence laid out a very convincing narrative of the damage this stunt will do to the political process.
Steve Schmidt (touted as a “sane” person in the GOP) and his take on Trump?
-
Policy doesn’t matter-- the “narrative does”
-
Trump will have “crossover appeal” (this about a guy with a -27 negative) rating w/INDEPENDENTS
-
Trump is a skilled enough debater to trounce Hillary or Bernie
-
Trump has upended the GOP “establishment” (which he represented until Trump)
WINNING and the acquisition and maintenance of power by any means (or person) necessary is the dictum for the GOP. When I look at all the name calling and squabbling among Democrats with people as qualified, balanced and intelligent as Bernie and Hillary–what with so many threatening to “sit out” the election if their nominee does not get to the General–and then I look at Schmidt casually take the plunge into the Pig Sty with Trump at the drop of a hat…
That should raise the hair on the back of everyone’s neck who is not a racist or a sociopath.
Wow. Steve Schmidt, the same guy responsible for unleashing the Whore of Babble-on on the country, calls tRump a skilled debater? Obviously there is an alternative universe and Schmidt has been sucked into it.
Were he not a classic Rethuglican operative I would express concern about his sanity.
One and the same.
He got to Lawrence. After Schmidt went into his defence of Trump, Lawrence turned to Rachel and dissed Trump to the Max (meaning…to hell with YOU, Schmidt)…and, since Trump has lowered the GOP to a place EVEN I couldn’t think it could go, I suspect that the “news” will be more polarized than ever.
The 21st century has been a series of SNL sketches. I am getting sick and tired of being ashamed to be an American. And to think that I was inspired by JFK as a 12 year old in Boston to go into public service.
Because it put them on the same stage with (what passes for) an A-lister in this GOP circus. They’re having a hard time getting attention otherwise.
And . . . Santorum, at least, could end up on a Trump ticket. Trump likes him, even if not many others do.
And they jump right in it every stinkin 4 years!
