Carson’s comments were thoughtless, immature and wishful thinking. They remind me of the time when I watched Breaker Morant as a teenager, and in the final execution scene one of the soldiers is crying - I suggested to my older brother that I wouldn’t act like that in that situation and he said that you don’t know how you’d react. He was more mature at 17 than Carson is now.

I hope he doesn’t burn out before the general election, I’d love to see him as the GOP nominee.

That would be rock bottom, they’d lose 48 states (I’ll give them Texas and Alabama … maybe Tennessee and Oklahoma … okay, and Kansas, possibly Florida … you know what, they’d still lose by a lot though, I would hope.)

My heart bleeds for those, like this woman, whose lives have forever been altered by gun violence, when assholes, and I stress ASSHOLES, like Ben Carson, Wayne LaPierre and Jeb say these idiotic things. The families of the victims are the first people I think of when I hear dumb shit like this. My heart goes out to Mrs. Lafferty.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Ben Carson’s comments (and Jindal’s, Jebya’s, Drump’s, et. al.) embolden enough Americans to hold elected officials accountable for real change; and that the recent People editorial that included contact information for every member of Congress signals “the end of the beginning”.
