Discussion: Sanders: White House's Rescue Plan For Puerto Rico Treats Island 'Like A Colony'

Sanders said the legislation “looks out for the needs of Wall Street vulture funds first and foremost. That is unacceptable.”

“It’s horrible nasty ugly dirty!” Sanders went on to say. When pressed on his plan to fix it, he pivoted to attacking Hillary and her qualifications to be president, “She’s under qualified, and in the pockets of wall street banksters! The fix is in! We’re all being CHEATED! They can take our lives, but they can never take our FREEDOM! Viva la revolución!”

First, it’s not the White House’s rescue plan; it’s a compromise between the Batshit party controlled congress and the White House. It probably should and could be more magnanamous. But that’s not going to happen. This doesn’t help either.

Sanders has been virtually absent from Senate proceedings during his lengthy primary campaign

If it were up to me, I’d make do with a few less aircraft carriers and just give PR the money. But it isn’t up to me. This is the best that PR is going to get right now and if you can stop being such an indignant and obstreperous asshole and support Hillary Clinton and maybe flip the Senate, we can do better by PR in the near future.

According to a recent Think Progress article, a plan that Sanders has floated – having the Federal Reserve bail out Puerto Rico – might not be permitted under Dodd-Frank, which sharply limited "borrowing from programs and facilities by borrowers that are insolvent,” as Puerto Rico will soon be.

If Sanders believes he has a better idea that he can get though Congress, now’s the time to speak up.

that is the problem with several of bernies’ ideas. it is also imperative to help raise money downticket. hillary understands that reality needs to be dealt with. rhetorical hyperbole is not a solution.
