Really wish he would have seconded Sarah Silverman’s remark as well…

But, eh… I’ll take it

Oh My GOD there is it, the Laura Ingraham salute! You guys were right about Bernie, I was wrong.

Good for Senator Sanders. He has proven himself far more gracious in defeat than, say, Ted Cruz, and he needs to tell his followers to lay off. The real enemy is Trump and his army of bigots and Know-Nothings. One battle at a time, please.

What powerful, passionate speakers … and the best is yet to come ! ----

Question for TPMers:

Re: Senator Sanders - Is all forgiven?

My answer: Almost all. Completely wiping the slate will take some time campaigning in college towns.

Watching MSNBC interview a couple Bernie or Bust-ers after it was all over and neither of them said they’d be voting for Hillary even after Bernie’s speech. Three words for all of them like that: GET. OVER. YOURSELVES. You’re deluding yourselves if you think there’s no difference between Clinton and Drumpf. I live in Missouri and have to vote for Democrats that barely meet my definition all the time because the alternatives are always much, much worse.

They scoured the audience for assholes. If they’d said they were with Hillary, they never would have been on TV.

Same here in South Carolina.

Sadly, I believe this… Gotta keep that horse race narrative going.

I am on my way to forgiving Sanders.

Tonight, I couldn’t help being angry at Sanders and his campaign for the tone they set, specially as the nomination got further and further away from him.
One of the malcontents they interviewed on MSNBC said something along the lines of finding it difficult to support Hilary (even with Sanders’ speech), after spending a year listening to his very different characterization of her.

Like his supporters have to get over their dislike of Clinton, I have to get over my anger at how Sanders ran the latter part of his campaign. I am just not there yet.

That’s SOME (a minority actually) of his supporters, Most of us have already taken the adult approach to this and will be glad to have you join us.

Bernie struck exactly the right tone, and I’m glad his was the final speech of the night. He buoyed his supporters and he made his endorsement of Hillary unmistakably clear, emphasizing shared values.

By the end of the night, the Bernie supporters were emotionally drained, some of them openly weeping, but he got them to accept the inevitable. Great job, Bernie!

No, not for me.

As I listen to MSNBC interview Bernie delegates afterwards talking about how they’re still not willing to back Hillary and repeating false talking points about Hillary that he himself spread…no, he is not forgiven.

He’s not forgiven because he hasn’t undone the damage. Yes, tonight was great and he came out with a full throated endorsement of Hillary. But he’s got a lot more work to do to undo the negatives he’s heaped on Hillary among his supporters and how much he improved the odds of a Trump presidency.

Missed the first few minutes (damn commuter traffic) but caught a good portion of it and was a strong speech. Will the minority of Sanders dead-enders take it to heart?

After Al Giordano knocks him off in Vermont in 2018, I’ll forgive Bernie.

I have to say the DNC did a really good job scheduling and programming the first day. I didn’t watch until the end of the afternoon, but the pacing and flow seemed designed to allow the Sanders supporters to vent and then get on with the spirit of the convention. But the end of the night, they seemed to have made a lot of progress in uniting the two factions.

Here’s hoping they keep up the momentum.
