Discussion for article #237525
This has happened with GOP candidates more times than I can remember.
They’re immoral remorseless fucking thieves.
The Republicans shouldn’t complain. They’ve got their own “rockers”, right?
For example, I’m sure that Ted Nugent would allow them to play “cat scratch fever” over and over and over and over again.
All Republicans should use a Ted Nugent song. I recommend “Stranglehold”
Now we need Dylan on board. Unfortunately, Dylan accepted an award at the White House a few years ago from Obama which was very disappointing. Hard to figure Dylan, not so Neil. He’s one of the best of us: guts, and well-spoken, serious “stage appeal / charisma”, besides composes and sings some of the most powerful and beautiful songs ever published. Folks like Peter, Paul and Mary would help, any great performer most of us love could help We The People now, when folks are listening awhile.
The granddaddy of them all, I believe, was Reagan’s appropriation of ¨Born in the USA.¨
Springsteen was not amused.
Proof that the GOP considers itself “above the law”.
They constantly violate Copyright Law by doing this, and they just don’t care.
Laws are for “little people” like taxes and jail time.
For that outright “theft”, I want jail time and a hefty, $ 8.7 billion fine assessed against Trump, all payable jointly to Neil Young and Bernie Sanders. Justice.
Sarah Palin using Heart’s “Barracuda” was the first thing that popped into my mind.

The irony of it all is palpable… but, after Nike bought up “Revolution”, we should have learned to expect this kind of co-opting crap.
Always revealing when the pigs we sing about use our songs to prance to.
or this, their “outreach” is well defined in this one…
Hey Neil, don’t you know who you’re messin’ with?
“The Donald” ain’t no one to mess with, he’s got money and plenty of it, just ask him!
What is it with GOP candidates stealing songs by Democrats for their campaigns? Can’t they find any good patriotic songs written by Conservatives?
It’s almost like Republicans can’t write any convincing songs about America themselves because they lack any honest feelings our country.
“Wang Dang Sweet Poontang, anyone?”
Going back 30 years, Bruce Springsteen told the Reagan campaign to stop using Born in the USA. Which really illustrates how fricking stupid Republican DNA is at the core. They don’t even listen to these songs beyond their seemingly (but intentionally deceptive) flag waving titles. The lyrics of many of them are actually anti-Republican anthems.
Neil’s a Democrat, which is a good thing first off. It’s a good thing that he supports Bernie because Bernie supports us and will eventually back Hillary and be a crucial part of her administration.
Neil doesn’t likely see it that way but that’s the way it will unfold.
At least they are stealing some good stuff…
What’s more, they can’t seem to get the message behind a song. This was as bad as Reagan wanting to use “Born in the USA”.
Yes, Cat Scratch fever with perfect lyric for deeply spiritual Republicans like the Duggars – Nugent and Duggars might want to appear on stage, rockin’ out with Trump:
Well, the first time that I got it I was just ten years old
I got it from some kitty next door
Hate Libruls. Love their music (even if we don’t understand the true meaning sometimes). And we’ll take what we want, when we want, and use it however we want.
