Discussion: Sanders Maintains Strong Lead Over Clinton In NH Tracking Poll

Bernie had best kill it in NH, that is not just my perspective and I’m sure he’s well aware as well. He won’t get any closer to a home court advantage and the away games aren’t going to be very friendly. He is basically a nation away from most of the rest of the nation geographically.

Sanders got close in Iowa but lost and second place is meaningless. He should win easily and as expected in NH but then it’s game on and he is definitely the underdog and for good reason(s).

I hope that Bernie and Hillary drop the personal attacks, however veiled they may be, and get busy with promoting real agendas with real nuance and teeth, then take that into the general and shred the Republican candidate. Throwing punches at each other guarantees a hit back and those hits ad up on both sides.
This hope of mine is no less realistic than the long shot hope of a Sanders presidency or the wild dreams of a new Democrat President taming the freedom caucus beast.

Nice try trying to downplay Sanders possible achievement as “home-court advantage”.

In NH Hillary was leading Sanders by 30 points in June. Where was the home-court advantage then?

The fact is, in general, being from Vermont is considered to be a negative for NH residents

I suspect that’s less the case, and perhaps not the case at all, among Democrats. But it’s true that the “home-court advantage” thing is being over-hyped. Candidates from “nearby states” have frequently lost New Hampshire, and “progressives” have as well:

Doesn’t really matter though, at this point the media has made up its mind – anything less than a 10 point win for Bernie will be a “winning narrative” for Hillary. At least that’s the way it looks to me.

I like Bernie he’s a good guy. He’s just not Presidential material. He seems to be getting desperate, keeps referring to the vote to invade Iraq. OK we get it, she made a mistake just like a lot of people that got BAD INFO, get over it. She still has the most experience and the most knowledge of any candidate on either side. His ideas sound good just like the loud mouth Trump, but getting anything done with a useless Congress is the question. I think HC should choose Sanders for VP and really make the conservatives suicidal. Plus it’s so early anything can happen. To bad the media has become Trumps personal ad agency, it would be nice to hear more from the serious candidates. Go Hillary!

It’s OK I think, still early.

Yes. The NYT reported on WC’s statements about Sanders as if it was a real barn burner, and then, a gentleman who was actually their posted a comment and said that Clinton was lighthearted and funny, and spent nearly the entire time talking up HRC, until the very end when he made the comments about Sanders. Gotta have that horse race. And of course the techcentric Bernie supporters and Republicans pretending to be Sanders supporters showed up en masse.

When the time is right she will pull ahead. When we start comparing apples to apples he will fade. Just like Trump, although I like Bernie can’t stand Trump. But their ideas are fantasies and as soon as it’s exposed both will fade away.

As another commenter said, gotta have that horse race. It explains so much. It almost makes me go for a news blackout even though I am a news junkie. But you know, it was kind of like this in 2008 as well, except that then, my mother and I (and my sisters) were on opposite sides and we all had to agree to stop talking about politics.

As my mother might have said: “From your mouth to God’s ears.”

Not sure about June, but I have been looking at the tracking polls and - to my surprise - Bernie has been leading Hillary by significant numbers since September. Could it be that in June all the college kids had gone home from Dartmouth to the Hamptons, and in September they had come back to campus?

CNN says that Senator Sanders is leading by 26 pts. The expectations is for Senator Sanders to win by a UGE margin. Anything less than 20 pts would be a let down for Senator Sanders in my opinion.

It’s not so much that she “made a mistake” as it is that everything she’s done since indicates that that’s a “mistake” she’s going to make over and over again. She would have gone deep into Syria if she could have.

In previous elections the Clinton have done well in New Hampshire. I guess they don’t do well with certain kinds of people–the kind of people worried about their future and the future of their kids.

You are right. We gotta know our place. Dreaming about a future for our kids is so unAmerican. We gotta settle for whatever our betters let us have. Pass the cat food.

You might have heard the latest cheer Clinton supporters are being taught. To the rythmn of “Four more years” Clinton supporters are being asked to chant “Com pro mise, Com pro mise” over and over.
