good: yayyyyy!!! isnāt bipartisanship great?
bad: no Bernie no.
BTW: Iām curious on what Angus King has to say nowdays.
I get what Bernieās saying, but, cāmon, does Trump give a flying f**k about working with him?
Bernieās true colors come out. Heāll be accepting a cabinet post next. He is an independent after all.
Bernie to America: Drop Dead.
āTo the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him. To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him,ā Sanders added.
I donāt imagine that Trump is serious about much of anything. I think heāll just hand off the job to āothersā, which in this case means the vast right-wing cadre of lobbyist and hacks will be the ones proposing the legislation and writing the bills.
Itās gonna be a government of the wealthy, for the wealthy, and by the wealthy.
What? Did you actually read what he said?
Bernieās true colors come out. Heāll be accepting a cabinet post next.
Oh for f*cks sake. Nothing about his statement or his history gives the impression he would become a shill for Trump. Did you even read what he said?
Cut the [garbage]. Talk like that and youāre a detriment to the causes most of us believe in.
Wait a second. First of all, we have to remain united on our values. If we carry the Bernie/Hillary rift into Trumpās presidency, we could be screwed for, um, forever. This is the first trap we need to avoid.
Then, we have to be cold blooded in our assessment of where the rifts are in the Republican Party and exploit them. If the difference between standard Rep economic policy and Trumpās supposed economic populism is a place where we can drive a wedge, then we should consider doing so (of course, taking into account the dangers, but weāre in dangerous territory anyway).
Perhaps the two of you can tag-team GM, Bernie
thatās why I wrote that brief āgood/badā thing about Bernie. With folks current mood, anything that doesnāt come out as āFU Trumpā is going to seem like its a sellout.
The shot at the media was pretty ridiculous. People werenāt sick of the āestablishment mediaā; they were sick of seeing inconvenient facts. I appreciate Bernie and donāt blame him, but I feel like he used some of Trumpās and the Tea Partyās tactics which are heavy on rhetoric and light on paths forward to address complex issues. Iād hate to see the democrats try to concoct their own version of Trump or the Tea Party in reaction to this tragedy.
They should work well together. Where do you think that person got his āthe election is RIGGED!ā schtick from?
I disagree. Hereās an interesting piece about how the media got the narrative absolutely wrong during this election, and why therefore we are all shocked by the result. Itās too long to block quote, but I think the writer is spot on.
āPeople are tired of working longer hours for lower wages, of seeing decent paying jobs go to China and other low-wage countries,ā
Uhm, pardon me, but arenāt we missing the automation part of this? Are we going to insist that the manufacturing jobs come back, and come back at the pay rate that foreign workers work for?
Inasmuch as people refuse to read a short 4 paragraph article before attacking, does it matter what he might say?
Part of the problem is the stupid and provocative headline TPM wrote. They gotta stop that shit.
its that comprehension thing man. Itās a really tricky subject.
"People are tired of working longer hours for lower wages, of seeing decent paying jobs go to China and other low-wage countries, of billionaires not paying any federal income taxes and of not being able to afford a college education for their kids - all while the very rich become much richer."
These are frankly the only parts that I have an issue with. At last check, Trump wants to press his luck and cut that rate from 35% to 15%.
Yep. And I looked at how he acted after he lost the primary. With āfriendsā like him we donāt need enemies.
Shorter Bernie: I want to be Trumpās very first āDemocraticā friend.
