Discussion: Sanders: If Clinton Wins, She'll Have To Win Over My Supporters Herself

If Bernie wanted to remain an Independent, he shouldn’t have lied and tried to pass himself off as a Democrat. At least Ross Perot and Ralph Nader had the balls to stay outside of the 2-party apparatus when they ran.

If this nation winds up with a President Trump or President Cruz - anyone other than President HRC - it will be Bernie’s ego that is to blame. Nice legacy, asshat!

I am now so regretting voting for Bernie in my primary.

I always liked having a socialist in the senate even if he seemed ineffectual…hell most of them are…but now Bernie has become very boring and repetitive and seeing him fade away will be nice.

I hope the Senate Democratic leadership remembers this if the Democrats regain control of the Senate.

You can be sure that HRC will not let them forget.

She knows how to hold a grudge.

I am so sorry I ever told the DNC that I believed they should allow Bernie to run as a Democrat. What a sad, angry little man. Go away, Bernie Sanders. Go away. Now.

Geez Bernie, you just don’t fucking get it.

Bernie, for somebody has claimed time and time again it is not about you sure do seem to spend an awful lot of time making it all about you.

Maybe I’m missing something here, but, Bernie’s answer isn’t actually saying he won’t encourage people to vote for her. He is saying that she will need to reach out and not take the voters that did not choose her in the primary for granted.

I see we’ve started the bargaining phase… Next up: depression then acceptance.

Most sane Sanders supporters are already moving past this.

While I understand the sentiment, I expect Secretary Clinton will be smart enough to not follow this advice. The primary goal needs to be to keep a Democrat in the WH.

Saying he’s always said he’d support the eventual nominee and then weaving like this is the same kind of doublespeak prevarication he rails against Clinton over.

Sad!

This woman, whom I’m voting for today, is a gracious team player and cares about the country. What a difference.

No, this is the essential difference between Bernie and Hillary. Bernie, as you say, cares first about his own success, and complains loudly about perceived unfairness which he attributes to his opponent. Hillary sees the bigger picture, and she works toward the success of Democratic goals by supporting Democratic candidates.

Well, that is a given – but at this stage in the game, when it is literally virtually impossible for Sanders to win the nomination, he should sound a lot more like a team player, perhaps not using the stupid analogy “I can’t snap my fingers and make you do what I tell you.” Well, no fucking duh, Bernie! Nobody is asking you to snap your fingers and TELL people to vote for Clinton, but you sure as hell can do your best to persuade them, impressing upon them the vital importance we keep the White House for any number of good reasons – oh, I don’t know, like the SCOTUS, for fucking Christ’s sake (that’s directed at Bernie, not you). Bernie’s response shows he is a petulant, angry asshole who does not give one whit about others – he has his, “so bug off and get off my lawn!”
