Discussion for article #244894
âExperience is important. Dick Cheney had a lot of experienceâŚâ
Okay, Bernie? I love you, but you basically just said, âYou know who also had experience? HITLER!â
Iâm pretty over Bernie Sanders at this point. He is a cranky old back-bencher who has been in Congress for decades and hasnât accomplished all that much. He IS âestablishment.â Now he is just another pol who will say anything in order to win. Trashing Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign because they had the temerity to endorse Hillary Clinton is really the last straw for me.
Eesh. Bernie canât really do that whole âhappy warriorâ thing, can he?
Come on Bernie, youâre better than this . . . I hope.
Wow! all the news is claiming Hillary is getting âdesperateââbut this shows who really is feeling that way.
What a mean spirited angry old grump this guy is. Recall when he wanted to primary Obama? This move is not very bright, to say the least.
And it reminds us all that this âIraq war voteâ is just about all heâs got in his quiver of arrows.
Hillaryâs vote to authorize force against Iraq was horrible.
yeah, god forbid that sanders points out something that is being ignored by the clinton supporters⌠her dreadful promotion of policies that have resulted in catastrophe. from the iraq invasion and occupation (oh, i sowwy) to advocating regime change in libya and syria â both now being targeted by isil, with hundreds of thousands dead in syria or fleeing their country. and then thereâs her bellicosity re russia; and her everlasting fealty to israel (where she has promised that as her first action as president will be to send the chairman of the joint chiefs to israel).
but, then, she is being advised by neocons, so none of this should be a surprise.
A whole lot of people have experience but do not necessarily have the right judgment. I think I have the right judgment to conduct sensible foreign policy.
True that.
Who needs the GOP, when weâre willing to go full Nazi on ourselves?
I have no problem with this, especially since every time Bernie draws a distinction between HRC and himself, no matter how mild, some Clinton surrogate pops up and starts ranting about him going back on his no-negative-campaigning pledge.
Wow â Hillaryâs new commercials touting her experience must be pretty dammned threatening to Sanders if he thinks he has to resort to this type of absurd hyperbole to counter them.
Comparing Cheneyâs âforeign policyâ to Clintonâs?
War and banging his shoe on the table vs diplomacy, which has certainly worked wonders for the past eight years.
BTW, exactly how much foreign policy experience does Sanders have?
Yes - and many of us supported Obama in response. But that was then â this is now. We have to use our heads and vote for survival. We cannot enable the election of a GOP president by nominating someone who cannot win the general election.
The Iraq Resolution was approved by 58% of the Democratic Senators at that time. The Resolution gave the president authority to use force IF certain conditions were, or were not, met, depending on the condition, as determined by the president. I leave it to the reader to figure this one out.
Yes and . . . so was every other Democrats and Republican votes for it. She fell for the Bush administrations lies like most of America did. I have no problem with her vote, I had a problem with her less than forceful apology for it. This has since changed. She is still too hawkish for my taste, but far far better then any Republican.
So Hillary is Rovian and Cheney-like now?
I like him less and less with each passing day. Pretty soon I will dislike him as much as I dislike many of his spittle sputtering supporters.
To paraphrase Joe Biden:
A noun, a verb, and âmillionaires and billionaires.â
Remembering how the Clinton campaign got several days of bad headlines over Chelseaâs words about Bernieâs health plan. I wonder if Maddow et al will pick up on this pretty nasty smear from Bern.
And some feel the same about Sandersâ votes against the Brady Act and his vote to grant gun manufacturers and dealers exemptions from legal liability. I guess it depends on what you think to be most important. My most important concern is that the next vacancies on the Supreme Court arenât filled by a Republican. I think HRC has a better chance of winning a general election than Sen. Sanders.
