Discussion: Sanders Endorses Clinton: 'She Must Become Our Next President'

I’m glad he does this.

LMAO…I just saw a post on RedState: “Sanders falling in lock step with Clinton. Big Lie politics. This is how the Nazi state began. Tyranny is coming to America.”

I thought: “Yes! Exactly…An elderly Jewish man and a Methodist grandmother. Just like the genesis of the Third Reich.”

This was one hell of a good speech.

I think that’s what you call a “ringing endorsement.”

I sincerely hope some of Bill Clinton’s “happy warrior” rubs off on Hillary. It is getting tedious how the MSM focuses on the latest Trump “Profiles in Derpage” and “Audacity of Dope” and ignores her almost entirely unless it is Benghazi or email nothing burgers.

So, he literally only repeated what he’d already said, except to publicly say that she won. That’s what dems were waiting for? That’s what dems think will turn the tide against Trump? A demand that Bernie adhere to dem etiquette and norms. Hell, even the media was no longer talking about this because Bernie said in interviews numbers weren’t on his side, said he’d work to elect her, that Trump was unfit for office, that there is only once choice between the two, and that he was voting for her. Bernie saying “I endorse Hillary Clinton” (which I’m not sure he actually said) is a monumental waste of time, given what he’d already said. I think this is why dems fail legislatively, a focus on minutiae and emotional appeals instead of on practical aspects of politicking. It seems remarkably like how they react to the GOP in congress.

I am glad and grateful Bernie did the honorable thing, even though it was undoubtedly very difficult for him. I hope he is this passionate and committed moving forward in the campaign, especially for other democrats down ticket. He has the opportunity to really move the whole party forward over the next 10 years. Democrats still need him to be the progressive standard barer and I hope he evolves into an elder statesman leading the way for younger politicians to follow. If he follows this path I might even eventually “feel the Bern”. But a good start.

I never doubted that Bernie, a distinguished public figure who really does want to serve the nation, would do the right thing.

Now, will those of his supporters who are dead enders still pout and stamp their tiny feeties?

There are some people who just can’t help but “Tilt at Windmills” no matter the consequences.
They demand that their “Pure Thoughts” dominate the world despite all evidence to the contrary.

The Billy Joel song: “Angry Young Man” covers all that;

There’s a place in the world for the angry young man
With his working class ties and his radical plans
He refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl
And he’s always at home with his back to the wall.
He’s proud of the scars and the battles he’s lost
He struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross
And he likes to be known as the angry young man.

Give a moment or two to the angry young man
With his foot in his mouth and his heart in his hand
He’s been stabbed in the back, he’s been misunderstood
It’s a comfort to know his intentions are good
He sits in a room with a lock on the door
With his maps and his medals laid out of the floor
And he likes to be known as the angry young man.

I believe I’ve passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage,
I’ve found that just surviving was a noble fight
I once believed in causes too, had my pointless point of view
Life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

And there’s always a place for the angry young man
With his fist in the air and his head in the sand
He’s never been able to learn from mistakes
He can’t understand why his heart always breaks
His honor is pure, and his courage as well
He’s fair and he’s true, and he’s boring as hell
And he’ll go to his grave as an angry old man.

  • All should be forgiven!

  • Forgive and move on!

Repeat, as necessary, until it gets into that thick head of yours.

Bernie is now on the bus. Everyone put your helmets on and strap in…Trump and the Teatrolls make for a bumpy ride.

As for any lingering Team Unicorn members at this point, you have a choice: get on the bus or under it.

Choose.

Or so I’ve heard.

Did anyone think Sanders wouldn’t endorse Clinton? The Republican Convention is coming up and Sanders got all he could in terms of platform concessions so there really wasn’t anything else he could do that wouldn’t damage his branding.

I too support the Borg queen. May she assimilate as all and bring us to perfection.

Your comment is so full of shit that many outhouses are jealous.

Here is a most excellent article, that I highly recommend everyone read. Its one of the best and most insightful pieces I have seen that explains “The Enthusiasm Gap” regarding Hillary.

Basically, she isn’t a “happy warrior” type politician. She is a “listener” who absorbs what people say and then acts upon it. Its not necessarily the best campaign personality, but its a highly desirable governing personality.

Bernie has made a great start. He can play a valuable role down ticket. He can become the progressive elder statesman for younger politicians to follow. Give him a chance and I think you will be surprised. I know he went a little crazy, but campaigns can do that to anyone. I think he showed today he is back on the ground and he joined battle for the Democrats.

♫♪ And I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "We’re gonna vent our frustration
If we don’t we’re gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need! ♫♪

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) gave an impassioned speech endorsing Hillary Clinton on Tuesday at a joint rally in New Hampshire, saying “she must become our next president.”

Sanders officially conceded the race, saying Clinton fairly “won the Democratic nominating process” with far more pledged delegates and superdelegates than he earned.

“I congratulate her for that,” the Vermont senator said to roaring applause from the audience. “She will be the Democratic nominee for president and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States.”

♫♪ I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would meet her connection
At her feet was a footloose man
No, you can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
You get what you need… ♫♪

You get what you need. Ahh yeah.
Sing it (D)s.
