Hey, Bernie, I know you are so exhausted after that “inquisition” (your wife’s description, not mine) from the Cardinal Torquemadas of the New York Daily News that you see any anti-Hillary, anti-Democrat screed as beneath the suffering you have endured at the hands of the media - you know, that media that has gone after Clinton just about every day for 25 years - but you see, sir, I am one of those proud “Democratic whores” that have voted for all those other “Democratic whores” for over 40 years. Those “Democratic whores” that brought us Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, civil rights, same-sex marriage, etc. But I suppose it is better that I do not soil the shining white and righteous Bernie Sanders campaign with my sullied, filthy support, so I guess I’m all in for that fellow “democratic whore”, Hillary Clinton.
You know, I’m getting really tired of the Bernie Sanders Farting Unicorn Theory of American Electoral Politics.

Do you actually know who Bernie Sanders IS??? Honest to Christ. He’s been a politician for decades. He doesn’t walk on water. He knows the game. He comes from a small state where he was able to ask for money from cheese makers. If he had STAYED in NY he would have been begging from those same donors as those ‘Democratic whores’ he derides. That is a good question, why have so many states turned red? Maybe Bernie’s supporters had faith in the establishment Democrats and maybe that faith has finally been shattered. Maybe people are beginning to want to take charge of their own lives and not depend on the Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s running the Democratic Party.

It’s in principle very helpful for democrats having a popular figure advocating for more liberal (if unrealistic) policies, as it shifts the terms of the debate away from what is in america a usually right wing-dominated debate. It’s unfortunate Bernie’s campaign has become so negative - no doubt fuelled by the ineffectual remnants of the ‘occupy’ movement

How do you really think we’re going to change what’s going on in Washington? It’s Congress, and it’s getting rid of those senators (all republicans and some democrats) who love the color of money.
However, how do you propose to do that in red states? How can we overturn the negative effects of gerrymandering in blue and purple states, which now send far too many republicans to Congress and cause lots of damage at the state level?
How in heck are you going to get your revolution when nothing can change until we do something about that?!!!
Railing against Clinton is NOT going to fix anything, but it could end up causing more trouble for all of us down the road. Is that really what you want?
Sanders isn’t doing anything here except feeding the beast with a bunch of rhetoric. Just like Trump, I might add.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you are a white male between the ages of 18 and 24, enrolled in college, you’ve just read The Communist Manifesto in your political science class and The Iron Heel in your American Lit class. You’re all full of piss and vinegar, and you are just DYING to use words like “proletariat”, “bourgeoisie”, and “oligarchy” in polite, real-world conversation.

Why don’t the repubs attack Bernie? Simple. They don’t want to run against Hillary. Wake up folks. I find many Bernie folks to be politically naïve. They use repub talking points to attack Hillary. If Bernie does get the nomination, many of his primary supporters are going to be blindsided big time when the repub attacks start. I am very disappointed in Bernie. He is getting some very bad advice.

Fat, dumb and happy hasn’t been working. People should be angry. They have every right to be angry. We are working harder and harder, and getting less and less, but the people we send to Washington are waxing rich accomplishing nothing. They aren’t even planning to win red states or districts. They just want to watch their investments grow. .
If you are angry at me maybe you will do a little research to find out what is going on in the rest of the world.
In this thread alone I have seen Clintonbots calling Bernie Bros racists with absolutely no justification and then patting each other on the back for not being like those racist Bernie Bros. Talk about people whistling past the graveyard.

Riiiight. As long as the person at the top is black or female we don’t have to worry about corruption in our party. Because, especially in New York State, it’s obvious the Democratic Party is the haven of the pure and righteous.
Look, as long as the average person in congress spends a third of her or his time raising money, that person is a whore. As long as the money in America is largely the province of corporations, that person is a corporate whore – Republican or Democratic. Now there’s another discussion we should certainly have about whether being a whore should be shameful. In many circumstances I’ll argue it should not be. But to pretend these aren’t whores is just a cover up. And to pretend that it’s okay if the whore looks like Julia Roberts, or in this case meets the minimal requirement of being a woman or minority, is just dumb.
The federal government, as the academic studies have shown, almost exclusively serves the policy preferences of the ultra wealthy. There are large majorities favoring virtually every position Sanders speaks for. But not among the wealthy, or among those who view it as “not pragmatic” to favor any agenda but theirs.

There’s no better way to win Democratic voters in the NY primary than by calling them and the people they voted for “whores”. I haven’t seen such reasonable outreach since the Republican Party after the 2012 election.

The is a minimum wage movement out there. As near as I can tell our Democratic establishment provides some weak endorsements but mostly they haven’t been on the front lines of the movement. Why is that? The Democratic party should be leading that fight.
