Discussion: Sanders Disavows Surrogate's 'Corporate Democratic Whores' Remark (VIDEO)

Bernie’s going to have to have to disavow a significant portion of his supporters then. “Corporate Democratic Whores” and similar phrasology is extremely common parlance over at places like Daily Kos.

It’s especially ironic considering the newly-released data that shows the percentage of uninsured African Americans and Latinos has declined significantly since the ACA was passed. This is in spite of the fact that a number of Republican-controlled states have refused to cooperate with the spirit and intent of the act; if those states had not blocked implementation of state exchanges, or had not killed them as Matt Bevin did in KY, there’s no doubt that significantly greater numbers of Americans of every race and ethnic background would have had coverage.

What’s even more ironic is that Dr. Paul Song is the humble tribune of the people, the champion of the oppressed working classes, whose lavish wedding to the elite, Santa Monica-residing journalist Lisa Ling was profiled here: http://www.instyle.com/celebrity/celebrity-wedding-lisa-ling-paul-song

This is just made for parody.

Sanders is the Salon.com candidate. Ha!

Would love to believe that, except I think he only apologized for the use of the actual word w-h-o-r-e and the fact it blew up in the news cycle. His entire stump speech has pretty much devolved into calling Hillary, Obama and our Dems in congress out as being corporate whores without actually using the word. This guy didn’t use that phrase in a vacuum and the roaring applause wasn’t an aberration, that’s Bernie’s bread and butter these days.

I wonder if it will have been worth it for Dr. Song, he diminished himself greatly. It isn’t just that the Clinton’s had a hand in securing the release of his sister-in-law, but to tar HRC as a whore has also hurt Mr. Sanders. My god, I cannot wait for this primary season to be over. I am so done with this kind of idiotic, over the top Republican sounding BS.

Sigh.

I see you are defending your corporate democratic whore friends again.

You ought to acknowledge that a lot of people in congress, including Democrats, don’t work for us. They have sold themselves to corporate interests, including big pharma and big insurance.

“Medicare-for-all will never happen if we continue to elect corporate Democratic whores who are beholden to big pharma and the private insurance industry instead of us,”
Sounds about right to me.

I know that you think of this as an election, but Bernie is more old testament prophet than presidential candidate. The future is coming and it is going to roll the establishment democrats running the party under.

No surprise though. He is running against Obama. “Take this country back” is exactly what they are wanting to do.

I wasn’t talking about Bernie’s tweet. I was talking about the guy who said it. Maybe I should have been clearer and realized that people who are going rabid over opportunities to shit on Bernie would’ve assumed I meant Bernie’s tweet. You can’t look at Song’s tweet at 9pm and say that’s not an actual apology. Do you require a pound of his flesh too? I mean, FFS, we say worse shit here every damn day about these political fucks and sometimes to each other. Sure, the context in which he said this obviously makes it horrible, but shit slips out sometimes.

Are you going to tell me Clinton shouldn’t have “taken DiBiasio to task the moment he uttered that ‘CP time’ joke”? I mean, fuck, this guy is a Bernie surrogate and DiBlasio had just finished endorsing Clinton, so it’s a very similar situation…yet everyone made excuses for DiBlasio. “Oh, well, he’s married to a black woman and has two kids with her” and other crap. Oh yeah? That just makes it worse in my mind. You’d think a white guy married to a black woman would have some heightened awareness and sensitivity to the racial connotations of the words falling out of his mouth…or that Clinton the Oblivious would’ve read the crowd’s reaction and maybe stopped it from going further. But of course, here, I get to see Clinton folks act like the water just got chummed. Everyone really needs to take the internecine warfare stick out of their ass. It’s past time. You’re gonna explode your prostates.

Whatever…I’m not going to play the demonizing game here. I spent a lot of time and energy shitting all over rabid Bernie supporters for it, and probably still will, and I’d rather not have to add fellow Clinton supporters to it.

salon.com sends me updates every day, and it’s gloom and doom, and today it’s “Hey Democrats, stop gloating, your party is imploding before your eyes too.” I know just what you mean.

A warm-up speaker said something inappropriate, apologized, and Bernie disavowed the inappropriate statement.

Meanwhile, still waiting for David Brock to apologize for his “black lives don’t matter to Bernie” statement, and still waiting for Hillary to disavow it. But not holding my breath.

Everybody says that, except one gets the impression it was merely masking the “Anbody but Hillary” voters who were longing for someone to show up. The concept of “this will make her a better candidate” was just a facade so people can complain how any move to the left would ultimately pivot to the center as sure sign that she was insincere the entire time.

But of course at that point the damage was done. He had green-lighted the Bernie Bro Brigade to fan out over social media with such comments as “That was an insult to Whores” etc. The huge crowd of adoring Berniacs ate it up and applauded. It was all very Trumpish.

We need to get it together against the Republicans in November. Simple as that. The reasoning of Perfect-The-Enemy-Of-The-Good people I understand very well.

In Latin America it is a tradition…complicated even more by la influencia de los gringos. Often the leveraging is even more pronounced as grandstanding.

And, as usual, hardworking people who simply need a break are the pawns in the Show. Always

The sociological term for this is “Idealization”. What is “Idealization”?

Idealization is the practice of couching one’s rages inside their own internal furnace in the acceptable concepts of “concern”, "discipline, “integrity” and the like.

  • The sadistic bigot dorm director who hates kids couches his bigotry in the Idealization of “I want to instill some discipline in these young men”.

  • The hypocritical jack-leg preacher who never saw a female parishioner that he didn’t lust couches his skirt-chasing in the Idealization of “integrity” and “spirituality”

  • The lazy fucker who cannot fathom the sequence of [Voting/Responsible Congressional Representatives/Public Policy/Quality of Life] places 110% of importance on high-profile, lip-flapping, vitriolic-rhetoric, drama-filled “concern” designed for maximum visibility (albeit with few results)…an Idealization if I ever saw one.

You really live in your own little fantasy world don’t you? An “old testament prophet”. Jesus, I have heard it all.

Pro Tip: It is always advisable to refrain from calling anyone a “Whore,” even if you disagree with them politically. Kind of a Godwin’s Law for basic civility.
