Good call by Bernie. Ultimately, even if the result was flipped, it would have an inconsequential effect on delegate totals.
Moreover, the PR value that Hillary received from winning all five states is baked in at this point and wouldn’t change even if Bernie won a recount.
Sort of like a story making the front page, but the retraction goes in page 23.

Just 1,531 votes separate Sanders and Hillary Clinton, and because the margin is less than one-half of one percent, under Missouri state law, Sanders could have asked for a recount. Sanders declined …
saying he would "prefer to save the taxpayers of Missouri some money.".
