Meet the Press and This Week were in full anti-Clinton mode yesterday between inviting Sanders and various GOPers to their shows, knowing full well their appearances would then generate anti-Clinton stories for the AP and the major news network. Who were more than happy to oblige. Notice that no mention of the fact that most caucuses are now behind Bernie which will make it much more difficult for him to play catch up.
How much of Sandersās campaign has morphed into nothing but his ego?
And how much harm will he do to the Democratic Party and itās candidates (up and all the way down the ticket) before heās pushed out?
Will Clinton take de bait? Inquiring minds want to know.
Clinton and Sanders have admirably shown both sides of how a campaign should be conducted. This left Trump and the Rās to pursue conservative folly for all to see or ignore, as their preference dictates.
I have no problem with Sanders asking for more debates. Itās very standard for struggling/losing campaigns to demand more debates. I donāt begrudge him that at all.
I am, however, growing increasingly turned off with the way he continues to attack Clinton. He called her fundraising āobsceneā and acted as though thereās something criminal about the way sheās raised money. Itās constantly Sanders=good/Clinton=evil.That wouldnāt be such a big deal if I thought he could be trusted to shift gears to happy warrior at some point in the near future, but I donāt.
I think Sanders is just doing what any candidate who is having to play catch - up would do.
I could have wrote the exact same comment about Clinton in 2008ā¦
Bern is already talking about NY but the very important state of Wisconsin is next.
Me too. I hated Clinton and was a strong Obama supporter, but now the shoe is on the other foot, itās 2016, and itās no more acceptable now than it was then. And as horrible as John McCain is/was, heās FDR compared to Trump or Cruz.
At some point (now) thereās precious little to be learned by further debating, other than watch the candidate who is behind bloody up the front-runner. I hope they donāt debate more, but I imagine that will be cause to shriek about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz some more, and do a whole other round of that. Less than helpful, really.
Andrea Mitchell who has an obsessed hatred of HRC said on MTP that HRC would have troubles running on foreign policy against trump proving she has no business calling herself a journalist.
Why? Is he going to deviate from the same stump speech heās been giving for a year now? If you havenāt made up your mind already, youāre not paying attention. #nomorefingerwagging.
I donāt think heās āattackingā Hillary more than āusualā. I think the problem is whatever he says the pundits come out and make it a HUUUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE deal, add their own āhate Hillaryā spin, the websites pick it up and away we goooooooooo.
I donāt know about that. I was, and still am, a very strong Obama supporter. But I never doubted that Clinton would turn her back on the Democratic Party. Because in the end, theyāre fully devoted to advancing the Democratic Party and Progressive goals. āDemocratic Partyā is too much of who they are, of their identity.
However, Sanders was not a Democratic Party member until he decided to run for President. No one, and I mean no one, would even be talking about him if he had run under the Green Party umbrella. He realized that only by running under the Democratic Party umbrella/apparatus would he have any conceivable chance of accomplishing anything.
Bernie has not a shred of party loyalty. Heās never done anything for Democratic Party members. So why be loyal to something you just joined a few months ago out of self-interest, if you already achieved what you wanted (lots of attention)?
Bottom line, Iām at the point where I donāt trust him to, like a lot of his devoted followers, not take all his toys and go home the minute heās lost the game. And thatās if he ever admits to the fact that he actually lost the game. My guess is they may still be screaming about conspiracies and corruption (and oligarchies, the new word of the moment) well into 2017.
Because he knows, after Wisconsin, the contests favor HRC until the end. Heās hoping to stay relevant by goading her into debates. I think he needs to have a long talk with his family about his next step.
will some one in the press please ask Bernie if he will remain as democrat or return as an independent senator?
since he is running as a democrat i assume he now will remain one. another question he said he wonāt do the TPP trade bill but i havenāt heard if he will repeal NAFTA.
Was Sanders asked if his campaign is working with the Clinton campaign or is he merely making his debate demands public for political reasons? . Keep having to remind myself to be fair but he is making it more difficult avery time he opens his mouth with his duplicitous statements.
It is standard fare, but Sanders,IMO, has pretty much blown any argument to have future debates out of the water by his own performances. Sanders has nothing new to say, the man has turned āStaying on messageā into a maniacal obsession. Everyone here knows exactly how he will answer every questionā¦the same way he has answered every question to date, with precisely the same tired attack lines.
In other words, Sanders isnāt really asking for a debate, he is asking for another free nationally televised version of his stump speech.
I donāt necessarily disagree, but it sill looks a little desperateā¦like heās trying to get her to participate in keeping him relevant. Iām guessing sheāll say no and heāll get a bit blustery and then the inevitability will start to sink in for people.
Iām still not averse to a unity ticket though. I havenāt spent much time thinking about it in detail, but my gut says it has some nice dynamics. Also too, a sure sign that the inevitability of HRC getting the nomination is sinking in will be that people stat floating that possibility more, so Iād say watch for it.
Was that an estate planning joke? Age-ism!!!
