No apology owed. Anyone can also go to the FEC website and scroll thorough Bernâs fundraising reports and see how much he raises from folks employed by big banks, big insurance companies and big "fossil fuelâ companies etc. You can also find how much money he is spending per month vs. how much HRC spends. Bern is f.o.s.
The other day I said I would vote for Bernie if he were the nominee. Itâs getting harder and harder everyday to keep that promise. Even if the nominee is Trump.
Barbara I love âdata-gateâ. Pure as the driven snow Bernie and company. Steal data (and that is what happened) and download it for their use. What is not discussed much is that it was only after that breach that Sanders poll numbers started go up. And donât blame HRC for this as Jeff Weaver did when it occurred. His campaign had access to any Democratic candidate but they didnât steal anyone elseâs data - only Hillaryâs. And his âapologyâ was not an apology. If her campaign had done this she would have had to drop out of the race because every pubdit, ânews outletâ and blogger would have been stuck to the story forever. And people would have her in jail. But Bernie - heâs just this sweet old man and she is the devil
In case any of my fellow political junkies are looking for something a bit more substantiveâŚsome really interesting stuff in this new Pew poll:
http://www.people-press.org/files/2016/03/3-31-16-March-Political-release-1.pdf
Itâs a really in-depth survey on attitudes on issues and so on, not just the usual horse-race stuff.
And even in the horse-race area, they ask some different questions than most pollsters do. For example, they asked voters whether they thought each candidate would make a âgreat, good, average, poor, or terrible president.â
Sanders: Great 10%, Good 26%, Average 26%, Poor 15%, Terrible 21%
Clinton: Great 11%, Good 22%, Average 20%, Poor 16%, Terrible 30%
Kasich: Great 5%, Good 28%, Average 39%, Poor 13%, Terrible 7%
Cruz: Great 7%, Good 22%, Average 31%, Poor 17%, Terrible 19%
Trump: Great 10%, Good 16%, Average 12%, Poor 15%, Terrible 44%
Take a deep breath. Maybe a short walk. We definitely donât want to go there. This part will be over soon.
Horsepucky Bernie Bots. You whine and snivel and use âshades of greyâ every day all day. Stick to your issues and STFU.
"Hey you kids!! Get that Clinton off my yard!!
Emocrat. Ha ha, Iâm so using that one, thank you!!
Letâs back up for some context on this morning, however.
Hillary issued a strong statement condemning Trumpâs views on abortion. And hung that bell around the rightâs collective neck. She issued a statement criticizing Sanders for blowing it off as a non issue.
In other words, Hillary is aggressively standing up for a womanâs right to choose, and pushing back on right wing attacks aiming at removing that right.
Bernieâs response? Accuse Hillary of being in the pocket of âBig Oilâ and acting indignant that she actually pushed back on that accusation.
When the right is launching into talking points aimed at moving the window further to their side on womenâs rightsâŚone candidate is standing up to fight them. The other? He is taking pop shots at her on completely unrelated issues.
FFS, BernieâŚthey enemy is out there, lobbing grenades at usâŚquit pointing your damn gun at the people in the same fox hole and shoot at the guys tossing grenades!!!
I just circled June 14th on my calendar as a reminder that this primary season does, indeed, have an end. Thankfully, at my recent annual check up I was told that I donât have high blood pressure (though nothing was said about whether or not I cause high blood pressure in other people).
Ha ha - funny. After posting that I got up, took a walk and went for a coffee.
You make my heart race
âŚeven if you are having @sniffit love child
Hey, I agree! Sooo unimportant!
But I do want to know if Eva Resnick-Day, the Greenpeace activist who was confronted, harassed, and poke by Mrs. Clinton, is filing battery charges against Hillary? I know, we all have our Corey Lewandowski moments but I have seen pictures of the bruises. Poor young girl just trying to participate in American democracy.
Posted this in another comments thread yesterday but Iâm gonna do it again. If you look at the pledged delegate math and the primary calendar for April you can see how much April really matters. Itâs a big month for both candidates/campaigns and I think itâs only to be expected that both are gonna get a little testy at times.
Really, what color is the sky on your planet? Of course, people have reason to worry she is going to be soft on the fossil fuel industry because they are raising millions for her. Those oil company lobbyists expect something for their efforts. It is part of the modern American political process. You have to be a fool not to understand that bundlers expect and often receive something for their hard work. Even if it is only access they rightly expect and will receive something. It is just the way our political system works after Citizens United.
Pew does such a great job with their polls. With the 44% terrible for Trump, I wonder what that means for how the rest of the R primaries will play out? I have gotten the sense this week that Trump has finally reached the tipping point of actually being in trouble; mostly because I think the media is tired of their new toy and, like a cat with a mouse, they are done playing with their food and are ready to consume it. And if it looks anything like when my cat leaves the remnants of a mouse on my back porch, it could get very ugly.
Me too. Thatâs some funny shiite there.
This is the oldest campaign lie going - that they expect something for their donations. No they donât expect a quid pro quo because everyone knows that is a bribe and there is no quid pro quo.
Donors make their decisions based on lots of things, but expecting favors isnât one unless the candidate is a crook and Hillary is not a crook. Stop trying to draw lines directly from donations to policy - there are no lines.
For more context,I think part of her aim is to appeal to women and the Democratic base in Wisconsin. Bern is leading there in a coupla recent polls and sheâd like to keep it close there and possibly eke out a win.
