I predict the State of the Union Address will now become the State of the Union Tweet. The only question is whether Trump will go to the House Chamber, bask in the big introductions and welcoming ovations, and then walk to the podium, pull out his phone and type 140 characters - or, if he’ll just do it from home while watching something else on TV.

We are already seeing how Trump is playing the media – like a rooster taking credit for the sun coming up. And sadly, as you say, the media will let them get away with claiming that cuts are really saving Medicare and Social Security.
I recently told my mother in law, who is on Social Security, that I’m unlikely to see any of it, even though I’ve paid into it and Medicare for decades. Her response, was, “well they won’t end them without paying you and others back what you’ve put in, would they.” Of course they would. Of course they would.

like many of the rest of us, and stand up for th safety net. Republicans have been gunning for SS since The New Deal, and for Medicare since LBJ proposed it (the clips of Reagan’s apocalyptic condemnations are instructive). We need to link the shredding of SS and MD to the Occupy ethos - it’s the 1% against the 99%, and the battle is on. Shorter version: we can win this.

It’s Bill who must attend the Inauguration being an ex-president and all, and if the spouse of that ex-president didn’t attend it would just one more RWNJ invented scandal. Anyway, she withstood the FBI, Wikileaks, Vlad and the R party and still won. You’re small potatoes on her list.

There’s also the very real fact that some of the highest enrollments for next year’s ACA were in states that voted for orange. Were they all at rallies on those occasions that trumpet said he’d abolish ACA (and replace it with something “terrific”) or could they not tune in because they were listening too intently to shouts of “crooked Hillary.”
The states with the most people selecting coverage all went for Trump in the presidential election: Florida, with just under 1.3 million selections; Texas, with about 776,000; North Carolina, with 369,077; Georgia, with 352,000; and Pennsylvania, with 290,950.
Abolishing the Office of Congressional Ethics as announced by the good milk fellow was also intended to save it.

No, she lost, and quietly disappeared to lick her wounds. She’ll be alright, she has the safety of her millions. The rest of us not so much.
I would have more respect for her if she came back after the loss swinging, but then again, I am sure she has “people” telling her what is best for her “image”. Wouldn’t want the right wing media calling her names, and hell maybe if she did, Trump would revisit his promise to “lock her up”.
Anyway, at least we still have Bernie speaking truth to power, again. Thank Jeebus for that.

trump isn’t the only one who can use the media to his advantage. I don’t Twitter but surely someone who does and has a big following can hit him with a Twitter storm to rock the foundation. Come on! Media is not just his strength, it’s his weakness. Time to get fired up people!

Don’t get your hopes up for any of the “actual” democrats to do much of anything. Hillary’s attack dog/blue dog Claire McCaskill has joked how she plans to sit back and eat pop-corn while the GOP shreds the country.

Maybe she’s grieving. Maybe she’s so hurting so badly no one can even imagine it. Maybe she cares about the country enough that she’s going to pile on trump in the kind of insulting and public and ignorant ways he piles on her and all the money in the world will never make that better… Sanders aided and abetted trump in any number of ways including his underhanded insults at his berniebros rallies and will now have even more support from Democratic senators than ever… Yeah, thank somebody for the socialist who tried to be a Democrat and failed. Stick with darcy. He’ll reinforce all the crap you believe.

If you think she isn’t planning what she can do to help at the right time and place, you’re wrong. Timing is everything my friend, just give her some space for awhile. If she were out there now it wouldn’t do diddly squat and might even be unhelpful, so chill out and give the woman some time. She’s a lot smarter than you are and she put her whole being on the line many times before and you should respect that.
late edit: when you’ve put in a fraction of the work she has for this country then maybe, just maybe, you can critique but until then…back off!
double late edit: I am no Bernie fan, just don’t care for the man, but I know that we need him and he has very useful qualities so I’m going to support all his efforts in full.

She leveraged her political legacy to get rich. She did quite a bit for herself, not so much for others.

Bernie did no such thing.
Oh I get it, he should have ran against her without exposing any of her glaring weaknesses, ones he did not make up.
If her and the rest of the geniuses in her campaign weren’t too blinded by their own greatness, they could have learned something from the primary.
One thing we can all learn from this debacle, is that Bernie was right, again, and maybe it would be a good idea for people to actually listen to him and not buy the Clinton campaign tripe, that he is some socialist cook.
