Sorry, we’ve already got a president who’s a narcissist, makes unrealistic promises instead of serious policy decisions, and doesn’t play well with others. I wish this son of a bitch had told his people, really told them, to vote for Hillary. But I don’t think he wanted her to win. And I really, really hate him for that. And I don’t want to fucking discuss it. Just know that a lot of us feel that way.

Here is the reality:
Trump had 11 primary opponents who hated him, half the amount of money as Clinton, lost the popular vote, and was still selected to be President by the “Electors.”
Clinton had 1 primary opponent who endorsed her whole-heartedly before the convention, had twice as much money as Trump, won the popular vote, but was rejected to be President by the “Electors.”
The problem is that we don’t have a democracy, and that the President is selected by 538 “Electors,” not voters.
But keep blaming Senator Sanders. I am sure he is what stopped Gore from becoming President in 2000, too.
We don’t have a democracy. Try admitting that.
Meanwhile, global warming is going to kill our children and our children’s children.

The overwhelming number of Bernie supporters voted for Clinton, far more than Clinton supporters voted for Obama in 2008. Yet, we still want to indulge in recriminations.
If we don’t win the House this year, who do we blame then? Will it be Bernie’s fault or that of the geniuses that came up with “A Better Deal.” (Did I get that right? I may have forgotten.)
We really can’t afford this anymore.
I wish he would concentrate his visits on a shorter list of states and candidates. That would be more helpful in the coming midterm I think. The itinerary looks more like a POTUS nomination campaign than it does for Dem candidates next month. Edit to add: I don’t think what he is doing is a bad thing.

Kinda cuts both ways when you think about it. I’ll leave you to work out the implications of that and arrive at the same more nuanced view of the whole context that you’re asking me to have.
Yes, I understand that. Kind of like Hillary’s PUMAs against Obama in 2008, right? Sanders couldn’t control who his supporters voted for in the general, but to say he didn’t “really” tell his supporters to vote for Hillary is factually and historically incorrect.
And Hillary Clinton came out of the convention way ahead in the polls and won the popular vote.
I don’t think calling him a “son of a bitch” helps GOTV in 2018, either.

Bernie Sanders was not and is not the problem.
And I also hope that he doesn’t run in 2020.
I’ll make you a deal. If his peeps wouldn’t vote against Trump in 2016 but will now, because they finally understand the parties are different, I’ll adopt him as my honorary grandpa. If.
We can’t afford Bernie as a Presidential candidate either. Hillary handled him with kid gloves: Trump won’t.
She had her surrogates, including Chelsea tell too many obvious lies about him for his die-hard supporters to move on.
I am hoping Kamala Harris runs, personally, Bernie needs to build his coalition without a hope of being president. We could use a few more left leaning politicians at the bottom rungs to really transform the country.
