The Trump administration wanted to delay firing Flynn as long as they could. I wonder why? What was he doing, taking pictures of top secret shit Trump wanted delivered to his friend Putin?

This lady exudes integrity and is pretty much the quasi perfect employee.

Trounce and Co otoh are deceivious bastards with a long history of cheating, lying and obfuscating.

The facts always win, its only a matter of time.

Trump is so used to being the smartest guy in the room, ore at least he is used to being in rooms where no one will tell him he is not the smartest. He is not ready for Washington, where a lot of very smart people, like Yates and Comey. agree to work for less money in service of their country. One dismisses them at his own peril. Comey and Yates are dancing circles around Trump, and he can’t stand it.

Glad I’m not on air force one with him going to Europe. He might try to open the door, so he can go out in a blaze of glory.

My thoughts exactly as to her integrity and trustworthiness. I wonder if the Democrats have a free seat in Congress that they can dangled before her.

Ideally, and I don’t think it is too great a hope, a lot of them will be coming free!

Probably his Russian guests in Congress were all marveling at his supposed brilliance!

Too bad the WH request for the dirt on Flynn was approved…hope the sources and methods were withheld. This comes after transition aides were caught removing classified info from secure rooms without permission (reported today), and before Cohen-Watnick was found poring over Intel on wiretaps. Our govt seems abused and too tired to defend itself.

talking points the White House has used to diffuse her bombshell testimony

It’s “defuse”. De-fuse. You don’t neutralize a bombshell by spreading it out over a large area, you do it by removing its fuse.

Of all the obvious words people screw up regularly, this one particularly bothers me for some reason…

Isn’t it remarkable how competence plus truth plus courage leads naturally to statements that are coherent and consistent?

It is very refreshing.

Get recharged, and resist.

I don’t know? Manafort was able to continue his work in the Russian laundry even after being fired.

Blatant lies have worked for Donald his entire life. During the campaign he lied transparently and coupled those lies with vile behavior. He won the Republican nomination by a landslide. I don’t see his behavior changing or the Republicans stopping him. They want to kill Obamacare and redo the tax code to enrich the rich and Donald is their vehicle to reach those goals, everything else is extraneous.

There is a fear among some of Mr. Trump’s senior advisers about leaving him alone in meetings with foreign leaders out of concern he might speak out of turn. General McMaster, in particular, has tried to insert caveats or gentle corrections into conversations when he believes the president is straying off topic or onto boggy diplomatic ground.

In private, three administration officials conceded that they could not publicly articulate their most compelling — and honest — defense of the president: that Mr. Trump, a hasty and indifferent reader of printed briefing materials, simply did not possess the interest or knowledge of the granular details of intelligence gathering to leak specific sources and methods of intelligence gathering that would do harm to United States allies.

David Frum on twitter: “McMaster arguing for dismissal of the charges against his client on grounds of diminished capacity.”

The irony here is that they could still do those things with President Pence AND that keeping PP around seems to be making those things less and less likely.

The two most irritating knocks on Yates were that she was somehow unclear when she first spoke to McGahn which was why she needed to return a second time and that she was a political opponent. Nobody who saw that interview could’ve come away questioning her ability to clearly articulate her thoughts, and no remotely honest person could’ve come away questioning her integrity or desire to do the right thing. The bottom-line is that they wanted to keep Flynn around at all costs and probably fired her as much for her attempts to sound the alarm about Flynn as her refusal to sign onto the Muslim ban EO.

The first thing rich people do when they’re facing jail time, is to check into rehab. It’s a 28 day timeout. The delay in firing Flynn after Yates informed them of his vulnerability to Russia blackmail was to find a way out of firing him. When they couldn’t, they concocted the absurd narrative we were given.
