American band? I didn’t know Grand Funk Railroad was still around.

They’re an excellent band, made up of good people who are members of other great bands. I hope we don’t suffer a terrible cultural loss on top of this horrific human tragedy.

I am old. I never heard of this band.

A quintessentially American perspective on something like this.

Yes, Americans are very concerned about the loss of human life and protecting artists from attempts at silencing them. I’m sorry your shithole of a country doesn’t.

My hopes and best wishes for the safety of the members of the band and all the victims of tonight’s attacks.

Not impressed, same notes over and over. And if you listen to the next song, it’s the same notes all over again, just changed the tempo a bit… To each their own, but I don’t hear anything special.

Nevertheless, obviously any lives lost are tragic, not just theirs. But if it makes you feel any better, I heard a guy claiming to be the brother of one of the band mates say he heard from his brother right after the attack, and all the band members almost immediately were able to get out through the back stage exits. After that, it’s possible communications in that area are just very tough, etc. Now that report might not be accurate, but I did hear the guy and he sounded legit, I believe that was on ABC as I “surfed” around the tube. Don’t bank on that, but it’s promising.

EoDM is a fun side project of some Queens of the Stone Age members and a bunch of their musician friends. Their collective work is greater than this particular project, though they are, usually, wonderful to see live. Shitting on them in the middle of all this is pretty cold-blooded, though.

I was commenting in their music, obviously I hope they are OK. I only took issue with your comment making them out to be some kind of huge contribution to the arts, which I just am not seeing.

I guess that went over your head.

Likely getting laid. Leave them alone.

I didn’t see anything substantive or subtle about your comment, but I wasn’t looking. If you were making a sarcastic comment about an American expressing concern about culture rather than chauvinistic, macho bullshit about killing brown people in response to terrorism, congragulations; you are quite droll. Not the most tactful, but whatever. Or maybe you’re just an asshole. Who knows? Who cares?

I was just providing context.

have you heard of Queens of the Stone Age?

One of the Eagles is the Queens lead singer

What’s that old saying? “Don’t criticize what you can’t understand”.

Yep, and the name of the band is meant to be ironic.

This is a group made up from various members of different bands that came together as a fun side project.
