I guess it will take a few rounds reprisal shootings, before politicians get the backbone and state the obvious: after certain point more guns make society unsafe.

Itâs far easier for the Guv to put on a full frontal, public lacrimal display at a church vigil than to acknowledge that something needs to be done to stem the spread of gun violence and neconfederatism. Sentimentality is one of the most virulent diseases afflicting white America.

Yes, address the symptom, not the cause. Law enforcement operates that way all the time. They donât patrol high crime areas hoping to deter crime, they wait for it to happen and then focus on the perpetrators. Addressing the conditions leading to or enabling crime is so lame.

Well, YES!!! You could change the laws so that a gun cannot be given as a gift unless the recipient also passes a background check, or just make sure a white nationalist with a police record raises a red flag during his OWN background checkâŚ!

The victims of mass killings are not killed by hatred, or mental illness, video games, lack of a moral compass or any other thing. They are killed by bullets fired from guns. All the things that craven politicians and deluded citizens blame rather than guns are present in other societies. But with fewer guns around, the mass shootings and less-noticed day-to-day shootings are vastly fewer as well. Itâs not complex. Itâs one fucking factor.

Ok, youâre a troll but Iâll play along, your point is so predictable.
There is one thing that stricter controls on guns would provide that might have prevented this: a deeper respect for the potency of this weapon. It might instill in people an understanding that they should do a better job securing them, that they should be more careful about giving them to troubled sons (or daughters) knowing that we as a society are aware of how deadly one small miscalculation can be.
Maybe if we showed as a society that we understand theyâre something more than an XBox 360, we wouldnât have so many enablers of the mayhem weâre seeingâŚeverywhere, every day.

Guns and racism - that is a deadly cocktail brewed in your backyard. No amount of death penalty will change the deadly impact of such cocktail. So quit falsely labelling the racist killing a one person act and pretending that a death penalty for him will suddenly wipe out SCâs centuries-old racist stain.

I just love this halfway thinking that Teabaggers specialize in. âWe should just concentrate on the kook who abused our 2nd Amendment freedoms,â which is what Haley is saying. But then she stops with a mental whiff of burning rubber when it comes to entertaining even the SLIGHTEST effort to control guns in her state.
And again, where was the good guy with a gun? If heâs a good guy the one place youâd expect him to be would be in a CHURCH.
Or maybe he just ran for the exits when the shooting started.

Yeah, a good guy with a gun⌠right. We have some cops (not all, actually not even many, just some), supposedly good guys with gunsâŚand what do they do⌠KILL and kill not bad guys with guns but innocent folks with no guns.
So quit pretending you all that guns donât kill people. You know guns kill people, especially when those guns are carried freely and openly by racists. Have you ever seen anybody kill anybody with bare hands or without guns?
