One way to hack an election - replace the watchers
“The appointment from the previous speaker expired in December and we are nominating our own selection – this is fairly routine,” she said in a statement. “We nominate people for a variety of positions and generally speaking choose our own folks.”
Translation: “This is entirely political and professionalism and competence have nothing to do with our selection. We want someone in there who will do what he tell him to do, not someone who demonstrably cares about the welfare of the American people. What happens in the Family stays in the Family.”
“I”m not sure I am so worried about some scheme to replace as him as much as I am concerned that whomever replaces him, will not be the kind of person that will be as non-partisan,” Merrill said.
She’s not kidding.
So, definitely not a Ryan kind of person then.
By all indications, the last thing Ryan wants is an election free of tampering, and he’s demonstrated zero capacity for honest public service. I only hope the intelligence community and special counsel’s office are looking hard at this as a potential place where Russian infiltration is being intentionally ignored or abetted. There’s no doubt now that the entire national GOP is as corrupt as Tammany Hall, Thomas Pendergast, or the Chicago machine at its worst. I’m beyond being shocked.
There are many ways to stack a deck.
And the Goopers know every single one.
Obviously Ryan wants to do all he can to help the Russians rig our elections.
Masterson, meanwhile, earned a reputation for his professionalism and competency.
Two characteristics that render him totally unqualified to hold a position in this administration. A very bad fit.
rePukes just don’t care about a fair democracy. They just DON’T,
Voting is so overrated.
More proof that Ryan and McConnell are marching in lockstep with Putin.
It’s now apparent that the two parties in America are Democratic and Russian.
Shorter Paul Ryan: “We can’t wreck government if competent people are in place!”
The other Republican commissioner, McCormick, has been skeptical of the idea of DHS getting more involved with cyber security and has even questioned the intel community assessment that Russians meddled in the 2016 elections…
McCormick also attracted scrutiny for her participation on President Trump’s bogus voter fraud commission, which was shut down earlier this year under a barrage of lawsuits.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) office said they have made no announcements to make on whether he’d recommend that the other Republican commissioner, Christy McCormick, serve another term.
Hate to sound too cynical here but it sure sounds like the next commissioner is a done deal, only waiting on the formality of either Ryan or McConnell’s recommendation. Trump will surely select her over anyone Democratic leadership recommends unless he can find someone even more corrupt.
Mueller is obviously getting a little too close to showing how the entire R party has been co-opted. Having a competent chairman in the EAC who puts country over party is a dangerous thing.
So any guesses on who Ryan will nominate for commissioner? Some one he vetted in Russia perhaps?
If it’s routine to replace him with your own nominee, you would have had someone ready to go when his term expired in December. No, there’s another reason. Nefarious is a very good word for it.
And why does the other Democratic slot “remain” unfilled, and how long has it been open? I’m sure the Republicans have nothing to do with that.
That’s OK because Rump would charge in to confront that illegal voter, even without a ballot.
It’s as if a junior vice president at your local bank had a known history of associating with bank robbers, and was even suspected of having received some handsome bribes from the National Association of Bank Robbers: and one day out of the blue nowhere he up and fires a trusted old bank guard, declaring that he would very much prefer to replace the guard with someone of his own choosing, preferably before the Brinks truck makes that big delivery of cash.
I can’t imagine what to make of it all.
Is Ryan a Russian tool, or just another Republican hostile to democratic values?
