Discussion: Ryan: We Didn't Learn Anything New From Comey Hearing

Good thing Trump has a tiny hand to jam up Ryan’s tight little ass to work this clown like a puppet.

So Ryan is openly admitting that he knew:

  1. The president and his team are under active investigation by the IC for collusion with Russia
  2. The president is full of shit for claiming Obama “wiretapped” him
  3. The 'pubs in congress knew that Russia was actively disrupting our democratic processes

And he didn’t care about any of it.

Ryan’s statement says nothing about Comey’s testimony but says all you need to know about his ability to learn.

Go ahead and cinch that knot tying you to Trump Mr. Ryan. You will rightfully go down in history as the heartless fool and dishonest huckster we’ve always known you are.

There is no more dancing around what donald is. He’s a liar. Adam Schiff got a shout out for being a truth teller, but we shouldn’t expect the same from the rest of the House. Hope it’s not too long we get something similar on Paulie.

The ninth week of Donald Trump’s presidency began with the F.B.I. director calling him a liar.

He lies in ways that no American politician ever has before. He has lied about — among many other things — Obama’s birthplace, John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Sept. 11, the Iraq War, ISIS, NATO, military veterans, Mexican immigrants, Muslim immigrants, anti-Semitic attacks, the unemployment rate, the murder rate, the Electoral College, voter fraud and his groping of women.

Why should he start learning anything now. He apparently didn’t learn anything about economics at Miami U. I don’t think he’s learned any thing since he finished ‘atlas shrugged’ when he was 14.

Well, Upton Sinclair explained it years ago; “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his job depends upon him not understanding it.”

This mantra is a dangerous one and all too often echoed by Dems–that somehow or other there is no ‘evidence’, as if some kind criminal standard of proof were required. This is a political fight for the country. No way that, if the situations were reversed, Reps would be accepting this narrow definition. The words ‘treason’ ‘disloyal’ ‘unAmerican’ would have been in circulation months ago, and rightly so, and the D president would have been drummed out of office.

There is overwhelming political and factual evidence that the Trump campaign acted in concert with Russia to defeat the Ds and Russia has been rewarded with foreign policy assists on NATO, Ukraine, the EU. Just because we don’t have video of Trump fellating Putin doesn’t mean that there isn’t evidence. Such forensic evidence may never come to light, since not all conspiracies are put down in writing. Ds have to start their own, entirely justified mantra questioning the patriotism of their GOP colleagues, or we will be gaslit into a dictatorship. They have to put the heat on. Stop confusing the political with the legal. Not that we should follow their example, but the Rs didn’t sit around weighing evidentiary niceties before they adopted the “Lock her up” slogan–which worked.

Updated for the 21st century.

Trump sets out to deceive people. As he has put it, “I play to people’s fantasies.”

As long as they get their massive Tax Cuts for their wealthy patrons, the destruction of banking regulations, environmental protections, and the removal of all health care for “Those People” their know-nothing constituents will happily vote them back into office to “complete the work” of creating the new Fourth Reich for Dear Leader Trump.

Thanks for pointing that out, Paul. No, nothing new except that your president will drag you down when he goes, and, as they say, make no mistake, he IS going down. This presidency will taint you and your traitorous buddies forever. Stay on your tax cuts Titanic and do not show a shred of integrity until, of course, Trump’s numbers are in the teens. Then you might find your spine, right, Paul?

Too bad they didn’t include that he lies about not being able to release tax returns because “audit”, his wealth, his debt to foreign banks and his charitable giving.

But I guess there is only so much ink (bytes?) in the world…

If Ryan didn’t learn anything, he was not watching the hearing. Ryan is willfully and totally ignorant.

This is CYA. There were too many coincidences to deny that there wasn’t some kind of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. Something went on there. Maybe it was low-level influence, but there was definitely something.

Gee, and you tried so hard to get to the truth.

Maybe YOU didn’t Pauliwog but the rest of us did. STOP being such a damn suck and start listening to the PEOPLE. God you are despicable.

I think it was Lawrence O’Donnell who talked about circumstantial evidence the other night. He said that, if you go to bed at night and there is no snow on the ground and you wake up in the morning to find snow on the ground, you can surmise that it snowed during the night even though you didn’t see it.

Ironically, that was “lifted” from (though not attributed to) a point Bernstein makes to Woodward in All The President’s Men
