Wait till somebody in the right wing media points out to tRump that Ryan – second in line to the presidency – is now actively trying to undermine his administration via Mueller.
Hope I have time to hit the can and grab some more popcorn. I don’t want to miss any of this shit-show.
Pauly, Pauly, Pauly. You’re the one who didn’t knee-cap the right wingers in “your” House when you had the chance.
Ryan is just a Grandstander and a showboat, he will help pushing Mueller off the cliff, when nobody looks…
Psychologically speaking, I don’t see any way for Trump NOT to fire Mueller. He has the power to do it. Are you telling me Donald Trump is going to sit there and do nothing while some guy goes after him, month after month?
No way.
“I merely base all my economic policy on them.”
President wannabe Eddie Munster boosting his chances of taking over the Oval Trailer after Donnie and Pencey get evicted?
Ryan’s ready. McConnell is going to get the healthcare bill through, so why not play both ends against the middle? He’d like to be president to boot.
Profiles in courage.
@maximus We were posting at the same time with the same thought.
I’m not going to get into hypotheticals. I’d be surprised if he would do that.”
Sentence #2???
A hypothetical…
Why is this Georgia gasbag even still around?
I thought Satan would have re-called him, since he got Callista embedded at the Vatican.
Gingrich says he talked with Trump, doesn’t expect him to oust Mueller
Gingrich says he talked with Trump, doesn’t expect him to oust Mueller
Well, this settles it, Trump will fire Mueller ASAP…
He doesn’t have the authority to do it himself. He has to order the AG to do it, and the AG has recused himself from the matter. So I guess then it’s the second in command, who objected to being thrown under the bus when Comey got fired, so maybe it’s not quite that easy.
Right-wing psychotalkers who fear the truth have little else but to demonize Mueller.
So that’s what they do and they aren’t going to stop.
Where did he say this?! Was it out loud?
Oh, Hewitt’s show. My apologies I assumed he said it quietly to his mirror while he shaved, under his breath so there was no chance anyone would hear and tell the unstable monarch of his treachary. No I’m sure this tepid, timid statement will totally restore his crazy colleagues’ faith in traditional checks and balances.
If only.
He looks good in a cowboy hat. Covers up some of the preening self-regard, I guess.
Not to be outdone, trump has a new hit; “Friends in high onion domes”
I was just watching Pete Williams and Ari Melber explain the process of getting rid of Mueller. The president could theoretically fire Mueller but it’s a long process. The DOJ would have to change the regulations laid out for such a situation. Currently, those regulations only allow that Mueller be fired for either good cause, misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, or conflict of interest. In order to change those rules, it would take a very long time and an act of Congress.
Sure, the president could just demand that Rosenstein fire Mueller or resign, but that would be the very end of Rosenstein’s career if he complied, and it just doesn’t even begin to make sense that the guy who impaneled a Special Counsel behind the president’s back would then suddenly agree to fire Mueller. The president could then keep promoting and firing new Deputy AGs until he found one willing to kill the investigation, but I think that’s even a little silly. Everyone compares this to Watergate, and they’re right to do so, but Watergate was a first. It hadn’t been done before and therefore some may not have realized the gravity of what they were doing. Now, one only needs to look to Watergate to see the shitshow one would be entering themselves into by complying with the president.
