Discussion: Ryan Says Trump Came To Capitol Hill To 'Close The Deal' On O'Care Repeal

Bad news: Freedom Caucus put out a list of firm “No” votes. There are only 17 names on the list, short of the 22 needed to block.
Good news: Club for Growth made a major ad buy opposing “Ryancare” in markets of some of the squishy Reps.
Ridiculous: Trump claimed GOP will pick up “10 seats” in Senate if ACHA passes.

Closing deals is not “what he does best.”

What he does best is to wildly and falsely blame anyone but himself when it fails … which it will, and which he will too.

Ryan said Trump’s in-person push for members to back the bill on Tuesday morning helped secure its future.

The President “knocked the ball out of the park,” he said.

Aw, they finally decided to make it official, cementing their partnership and tying their political fates together. Let us behold the happy couple and throw daisies and white roses as they walk down the aisles jointly holding the bill as Trump hits it out of the park.

What’s that? No roses or daisies? Rotten tomatoes instead? Moldy hunks of Cheese?

Paul - haven’t you been paying attention? He’s going to abandon you when this flails either in the House or in the Senate. See that image of a dangling silhouette? That’s you as the scarecrow being left alone in an empty field as hungry crows swirl around and feed on the corn that you are supposed to be ‘protecting’.

But having now completed this dance/partnership on the Hill on DonTCare - you are in a lose, lose situation. Trump will heaps the blame (and vitriol) on you when it fails, AND you will forever be seen as part of the team trump for this effort and as his credibility continues to delve deeper and deeper into the abyss - you and your party will be swept away with the wake.

It’s like we get a teensy glimpse of his warped and gloriously self-promoting reality inside of his head.

…sweet nothings in Donnie’s ear…

In other words, if this goes down in flames, it is Trump’s fault

Ryan sees his Ayn Randian Fantasy of the “Strong Dominating the Weak” is within reach and he will do ANYTHING to get it passed in the House, where, in all likelihood it WILL PASS.

Over in the Senate however, it faces a long, tough road. I am sure McConnell will try every parliamentary procedure trick in the book to skate it through in some 3 AM vote, but I have my doubts.

Unlike in the House, you can’t “gerrymander” a Senate race and 2018 is looming in the distance.

Is there a bigger phony and scumbag than Ryan? I hope he keeps praising Don the Con, so perhaps he can lose his seat in 2018.

We learned exactly who Ryan is in 2012 when he kept batting his eyelashes for Romney and carrying the bilge water till his back near broke.

He’ll do and say anything if he thinks it will keep him close to where he believes the power is. I cannot conceive of anyone more slimey and slippery than this immoral and talentless excuse for a man.

I wonder, besides the “Freedom Caucus” (now there’s a “1984” inspired appellation if I ever heard one!), how many of the GOP House members in blue states or in states where they won against Dems by razor-thin margins are going to be stupid enough to vote for this rancid piece of chupacabra shit, especially with their constituents screaming “YOUR LAST TERM!” at them every chance they get.

Trump met with Charlie Dent’s “Tuesday Group” after the caucus-wide pressure session; no word on how that went. Also read that reporters could hear cheers and pounding on desks from the Freedom Caucus meeting this afternoon.
