Discussion: Ryan Says He Wants DACA 'Compromise' Tied To 'Border Security'

And Ryan just signaled that nothing will be done with DACA legislation. The thugs in congress couldn’t pass legislation to find their way out of a paper bag.

Ryan’s outdoing himself in terms of inconsistent, feckless, weasel-like behavior. He’s afraid of retribution from that mean old Donald because he dared to say (before the announcement) that keeping DACA might be a good thing. Now, he had to do an about face and say Trump’s decision was “wise” and, just to be sure he stays in good graces, Ryan will link any DACA legislation to funding for the wall. Good luck with that, Paul . . .

Pure evil. Holding people hostage is the only strategy the modern GOP knows.

Ryan Says He Wants DACA ‘Compromise’ Tied To 'Border Security’

Translation: “We wont do shit”

If you are dreamer follow Trump’s advise and start learning Spanish and looking for relatives. Also you may want to move because I am sure the stormtroopers at ICE will use the information they have on you, actual criminals are harder to find and they need to fill their quota.

John Boehner was a genius compared to Ryan.

The mendacious choir boy ,Paulie Ryan, trying to spin a tale about extortion into one about border security. The nuns would be smacking his hands with a 2x4 ruler if he tried this bullshit on them. The Democrats should tell the choir boy - no more ransom notes. If you want to deport 800,000 hard working, industrious young men and women to countries where they would be strangers or even potential victims,it is on your conscience, assuming you have one.

In essence, Eddie just introduced a poison pill (i.e., Border Wall funding) into the legislation before it’s even written so when the crappy bill fails they can blame it on the Dems.

Too clever by half.

They keep talking about border security and think a wall will stop people from coming here. How many tunnels are there under the border already? Ask border agents and they will tell you if you make the wall/fence taller people just get a bigger ladder.

The real problem, and the one that Republicans won’t touch, is the employers. Many of the people crossing the border are doing so for work. If you really want to stop people from coming, stop them from getting a job here. They crack down on the immigrants, but never on the employers. Technically they are both doing something illegal, but they only go after the immigrants (the others).

Pass the DREAM Act, or something like it, and set up temporary work visas for the immigrants. It’s not that hard.

And then Ryan calls for Democrats to not play politics. sigh.
Please, oh pretty please, the newly formed DEM SuperPac - help his Democratic opponent, Randy Brice. Help fund HIS video’s and then get out of the way and let the activists do their work.

Its just all about the wall… so transparent it is almost funny (although it isn’t)… they have already selected 4 companies to build prototypes in San Diego – costing between $400 and $500k each

NONE of the companies are from California:
"Those chosen are Caddell Construction Company in Alabama, Fisher Sand and Gravel Company in Arizona, Texas Sterling Construction Company in Texas, and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company of Mississippi

Trump provides the sword, Ryan insures that republicans use it to commit electoral suicide.

The timing on this would seem to be deadly for republicans. Six months from now, as the 2018 election cycle is about to gear up, the situation with DACA will hit critical mass. If nothing, or little, is done the nation wide agony of 800,000 fellow citizens being cast out by republicans – and held ransom by the right wing in the house – will get everyone’s attention. How will any republican candidate for the house be able to slide sideways from out of the corss hairs on such an in-your-face issue? It would be an interesting situation to watch if it weren’t promising to be so horirifying, painful, and depressing to experience.

His actions and non-actions reveal him to be a white supremacist piece of shit. No qualified weasel words, no watery blue eyes nor pretense of morality from any of these vile GOPer’s is fooling anyone.

I have news for you, Ryan. There’s no “compromise” to be had. Put up a clean DACA-type bill and Democrats will vote for it. Laden it controversial measures designed to appeal to the extremist right-wing base (aka Mainstream Republicans‍™), and Democrats will let your party suffer the wrath of all those opposed to ending DACA.

In other words, do nothing and you’ll do for the US what Pete Wilson did for California with Prop 187: Turn it Democratic for the foreseeable future.

So, If you want to shoot your own party in both feet, go ahead.

Your call.
