Paul Ryan is knowingly running interference for a president that colluded with the Russian government to warp our system of elections and that is presumably still doing so. We do not have a functioning electoral democracy and are ruled by traitors.
The committee subpoenaed the FBI for information on whether the FBI tried to independently confirm information in the dossier or paid former British spy Christopher Steele for the dossier. Nunes also asked for information on whether the federal government used the dossier to justify surveillance on Americans.
It would be nice if the document production shows: âYes we did try to independently confirm information in the dossierâŚand yes we have, to date, confirmed 90% of it. Yes, we did use the dossier and the independently confirmed information to conduct surveillance on a number of individualsâŚwho are in governmentâŚin the executive branchâŚin the White House - and a few others who Mr. Mueller has also talked with after receiving our reports.â
I donât really know what to do with this. Weâre all worrying about the 2018 elections and the 2020 elections, but we have good reason to believe those elections will not be free and fair. Is this fine? At what point do we stop abiding by the conventions of a politics that appears to have broken down completely and been overridden by hostile powers both foreign and domestic?
I guess this means Stephen Miller will now have to scurry over to the Executive Office Bldg at 2AM to meet with Nunes and review all this. White House aides just canât catch a break.
âDevin needs to take 'em to his bossâŚâ
But really - why are they even asking? Iâll bet they already have some sort of copiesâŚ
Do their wives know about these clandestine meetings in the middle of the night?
There;s a variety of ways the Republicans can handle the dossier thing. Obviously they are not interested in the route of âlets find out the truth hereâ. And because itâs about Trump, they canât possibly counter it with âwe know its not true because the allegations are inconsistent with Trumpâs character.â No one and I mean no one would would do anything but laugh at that argument.
At this point, the odds are high in favor of the investigations ending in disaster for the Republicans. Still wondering if this ramp up of interference and rhetoric is a race between Mueller and Tax Cuts.
I cannot see anything more compelling for the Republicans to stall, ignore and denigrate these investigations than for that. The cost to their brand has to be less than the return on the tax cuts.
And I wonder what âcode namesâ they use.
Ryan wants to sweep it all under the rug for Trumpâs signature on the budget and tax cut that is closer to Ryanâs Ayn Rand college kegger fantasy than has ever been proposed.
Or safe words.
Too bad the tax cuts only affect a small portion of voters. And last time I checked even thought Romney assured us that âcorporations are people tooâ I donât think theyâve been given the franchise.
Well since Deep Throat is taken the formula I found on the internet to determine oneâs porn name: âYour first name is the name of your first childhood pet. Your last name is the name of the street you grew up on.â
This might take some research.
Just FYI mine would be Sam Adams
People have only one street they grew up on? How strange.
Military brat, grew up on a lot of different streets.
its definitely a ramp up of interference regarding Mueller. Both the House and the Senate Committees(and both Judicary and Intelligence in the Senate) have effectively split their investigations in half.
As far as a race between the investigations and tax cuts, this is another one of the huge problems confronting them on realistically pushing through a tax cut bill. It eats up too much bandwidth that they donât have. And now they are committing themselves to running a distraction offense on that front.
Minnie Northwest 9th here. hahahahaha
I sort of expect some of the Republicans who have been quiet to flip if they get what they want. And this is not how you lead a country. One clue to me is there is no definitive road map of what their governance implies, everything is couched in broad, vague terms. They only want specific things and after that they are done.
There has to be an uneasy balance between them and Trump. He in many respects is a marked man. It would take simply a twitch to send them over to the remove column. As much as he acts like they are his hostage, the same can be said the other way. It is a really nasty business relationship.
Except I am pretty sure that people like Ryan, have already been ensnared in their own related wrong doings, so now they are tied together. Ryan will do whatever he can to shut down the Russian investigation, especially if it starts veering off into non White House targets, because at the very least, he is an accessory, if not an outright culprit. The taped comments from last June clearly indicate that Ryan had prior knowledge of money flowing into the Trump campaign and at least Rohrbackerâs campaign. Its not a big stretch that the money was flowing into all sorts of places.
Plus, this sort of thing is perfectly in keeping with standard Russian protocol. Seduce the target into an illegal act, and then you own them forever.
Lots of speculation and hard to prove information, but also lots of dirt on Trump, lots of election tampering. The dossier says plenty on that. Also lots of proof that Trump did not protect the U.S. (in oath of office pledge) and did not serve the U.S. in best interest. That would be the treason part.
