Loving this–a very good spot by TPM. Ryan is now trying to hang this thing around the neck of Trump and vice versa. Dems must find a way to stir the pot.

Great, another day I’m not gonna get any work done…

Rand Paul would be interested to know which GOP Senators helped write the bill.

I await Spicer’s response to the question about Trump’s role in drafting the bill.

The thing is, he really, truly does believe that destroying Medicaid and immiserating the poor are worthy objectives in themselves. He really, truly doesn’t grasp that taking insurance away from poor people to give tax cuts to the rich is a bad thing or that taking insurance away from poor people will return us to double digit health care inflation, and thus accelerate premium increases, because the hospitals will charge more to paying clients to cover the cost of treating the poor when they finally get sick enough to show up despite not having insurance.

He really, truly does believe that inflicting all of this horror for a net savings of a measly six billion is a sterling achievement.

Jesus, why couldn’t somebody have just given the raging asshole a copy of Lord of the Rings when he was a teenager instead of Atlas Shrugged?

Bannon, Conway, Spicer, etc: Ryancare
Ryan: Trump wrote it.
Trump: Price wrote it.
Price: Mulvaney wrote it.
Mulvaney: That guy out in Oregon wrote it.
Walden: It was the intern.

It’s always a good sign when nobody wants his/her name associated with a piece of legislation.

He missed a good gambit: “This is a bill Ted Kennedy, whose name is attached to many bipartisan bills, would have been proud to sponsor”.

Trump and minions trying to put the albatross around Ryan’s neck, Ryan trying to put the albatross around Trump’s neck. Conclusion: It is an albatross, a monstrosity. They built it, they own it!

This will all redound to the eastern European summer intern at Mar-a-Lago who fetches coffee for the guys at the loading dock.
