“A lot of your members have conceded they didn’t read the bill. There wasn’t a single committee hearing or committee markup on the finalized version of the bill. There wasn’t a CBO analysis of this bill,” George Stephanopoulos asked Ryan on ABC’s “This Week.” “So have you met your own standard here?”
Answer: “Yeah, I think this is kind of a bogus attack from the left. Let me say a couple of things,” Ryan said. “The bill’s been online for two months.”
Here’s the problem: Stoopidopoulos didn’t smash that down immediately.
What SHOULD have happened:
“Yeah, I think this is kind of a bogus attack from the left. Let me say a couple of things,” Ryan said. “The bill’s been online for two months.”
Answer: “That’s not what I asked, Congressman. Please try again”
Liar.
The seems to be the uniform stance from all the networks this morning…Let the GOP blatantly lie ( and they are…not little white ones, full on, great big ol’ lies. And lots of them. Basically every defense this morning has been a bold faced lie), and don’t challenge them on any of it.
So a simple three page amendment that lets states opt out of the EHBs and create underfunded high risk pools that impact 25% of the population are narrow changes that have no dramatic effect. Not sure why those narrow changes were the single factor that swayed the “let them eat cake and die in the streets” caucus, but the GOP policy wonk has spoken and I must concede to his greater knowledge of the power of magic asterisks to offset the CBO score.
BOGUs MANOgus! FAKe News!!!1111!one!11!1!!!
Good job, Ryan! It should be of great comfort to the red state obese smokers when they have to go out of pocket for their diabetes and COPD care that it was all because the lefties pointed out that members of your own party didn’t read the bill that killed their coverage.
Yeah, that CBO score should stop these victory laps in their tracks. If it gets any media coverage, that is.
They voted lock-step for a bill they did not read. They met Ryan’s standard.
Sonja: “I truly think this is the best of all possible worlds.”
Boris: “It’s certainly the most expensive.”
Speaker Ryan is more unpopular nationwide than Donald Trump.
Every time he speaks, the country thinks less of him.
"…the most recent CBO score showed that we’re perfectly in compliance with the Senate budget rules, which is what matters here.”
Yeah, taking away health insurance from millions of people, pricing out millions more who have pre-existing conditions, and stripping away essential health benefits from those who are lucky enough to still have some coverage – none of that “matters,” the only thing that “matters” is whether they could ram this turd of a bill through the Senate with 51 votes. I’m sure the American people agree.
@asanders91360
It just occurred to me that thanks to the Sunday Morning(EDT) so-called News shows you can turn on the TV while they’re “in proigress” and hear more unchallenged transparent lies than you can at any other time.

[/quote]Exactly what I was thinking and more politely put than I would have. Also, much of the criticism, more on substance than process, is again from the American Medical Association, Hospital Association, the AARP, the insurance industry, and even Republican governors - not your basic bastion of left-wing, latte-drinking liberals.
This why things aren’t going to change, quickly, in this country even with a newly activated Left. The press is perfectly fine with allowing the GOP to lie without any pushback. Sometimes they push back after the fact, but at that point it’s too late. They need to develop the skills and where with all to push back immediately. Until then, nothing will change.
I have wondered if its possible for someone to lack a soul. Ryan is evidence of such a phenomenon. How could anyone lie as he does and also sleep at night, then look at himself in the mirror the following morning otherwise?
I think Ryan is a Hannah Arendt Republican, if you know what I mean.
He probably thinks that it’s profound when he wonders what the underside of his cornflakes look like, in his cereal bowl.
Utterly concrete, unimaginative, and stupid—like Trump.
Numerous House Republicans have admitted that they never read the damn thing, nor did they have any clue how the legislation would directly impact many of their own constituents.
How is that “bogus”?
There’s a special place waiting for lyin’ ryan in hell.
I’m quite certain the left’s attack on you useless traitors is not bogus but a very real attack. And it will continue until we’ve erased any sign of you and your bogus administration. Now please hurry the American Cultural Revolution along by passing your tax bill. When your puppet masters realize they have no place to hide you will already be gone and it will be too late to change the course of history.
