We have fixed inequality in the United States! Hurrah!

A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, PA, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week … she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year.

Ryan’s a numbskull.

I hope I’m not being an “elitist” by suggesting $1.50/week raise is something I wouldn’t brag about if I was a teenager with a paper route. Still peanuts even at that tender age.

How can Ryan be this tone deaf? How can he possibly think this is a good deal for the common person while billionaires walk away with literally millions. The ads just write themselves.

I preferred the original. But point taken.

I read the three books faster than anything I’ve read in the past. Except for maybe the Exorcist which was a lifetime and a half ago.

Is this his real account? I saw this earlier today and wondered. Celebrating $1.50/week seems like snark-right?

ETA: Ryan deleted the tweet.

Ryan also posted a quote from a man the AP said “got an extra $200 in his paycheck last week, which he said will help offset a $300 increase in the cost of his health insurance.”

This is not exactly a win, as the increase in the cost of the health insurance is because of…Paul Ryan.

$1.50 per week. hmm 1 large mini-mart coffee. hey that’s like $78.00 per year. i wonder what the tax cut did for ryan’s first paycheck? probably more. what a weasel and liar. sounds like a guy in a comey tweet.

Ryan: “A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, PA, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week…”

Weekly pay increase to public school employees after Republican tax scam loots Treasury:

  • $1.50.

Average annual tax cut to the One Percent:

  • $150,000.

The look on Paul Ryan’s face when the coming Blue Tsunami drowns his sorry party like a rat in a bathtub:

  • Priceless.

It will more than cover her Costco membership and a a couple of pieces of the gourmet pizza for that snack on the way out the door.

I’ve noticed some local Trumpers crowing about having more money in their SS checks. I pointed out that they were attributing a cost-of-living increase to 45, who has nothing to do with cost-o’living increases, and I declared I hoped they were aware that the $$$ for the tax cuts well might come from their Social Security. Their response was, predictably, to denigrate and abuse the messenger. Good luck to 'em!

Why couldn’t he find better examples? Why didn’t a man with the education and background go “Hey, this is going to make me look like a complete Stooge!”.

Of course, her health insurance premium also went up $450 per month at a $10K deductible, but who’s counting?

I like both of them. I think Rooney and Noomi both nailed it, and the rest is hard to compare since the first book sort of stands alone, and only one version of the whole story has been filmed. I’m not clear on what the original Swedish version is though. The 6 hour version is the first one i saw, and would be a typical length, but the extended version i saw on Netflix felt more like the original one.
