Discussion: Ryan Agrees To Immigration Pledge With Freedom Caucus Member

Discussion for article #242210

Maybe he should just pledge to everyone that he will do nothing about their little special interest. Then everyone could go home for a year and a half to spend time with their family.

Bad move by Ryan.

Of course he isn’t going to be bringing up an immigration reform legislation anyway…that’s pretty much a given.

The problem is, giving the appearance that he is “caving” into this guy will only emboldened the Freedom Caucus to make more demands earlier than later. From their perspective, it appears that Ryan is already dancing to their string tugs.

And when Ryan decides he doesn’t want to be just their figurehead…the blow back will be huge.

So this is the other bookend to the admission that the Benghazi Commissions were electioneering hit-squads for HRC. Hell, the Republicans can’t pass Immigration Reform if they tried, but their lame-ass excuse is not doing it under Obama.

Keep it classy GOP, keep it classy!

These Freedom People are terrorists. No other way to describe them. The will destroy america to get what they want. And the GOP has given them safe districts for a good long while.

The zombie-eyed granny starver is beginning as he means to go on, pandering to the hard right crazies–not that he’s very far off that description himself.

Wow. Yet another piece of evidence he doesn’t have any political skill with which to survive the Republican zoo. Incredible.

That implies a great deal of IOKIYAR…because amnesty would be fine so long as it’s from the GOP?

If the GOP cared about American jobs other than their own, they would have passed the infrastructure bill back in 2009. Our jobs are not the GOP’s concern. Never were.

“Struggling American families have lost more than 8 million job opportunities to illegal aliens. All lower and middle income American workers have suffered from suppressed wages caused by the surge in both illegal alien and lawful immigrant labor supply,”

Yes, the “surge” in illegal immigration is approximately minus 900,000 since 2007. In fact, the number of unauthorized immigrants has decreased specifically in Mo Brooks’ home state of Alabama, which, he claims, “has caused great concern to me and the Americans I represent.”

In other words, as befits a Freedom Caucus member, Mo Brooks has blackmailed Paul Ryan with false information.

Is it because of Paul Ryan that Tim Huelskamp manages to look less masculine with a beard?
