“When we are evenly divided, it is equivalent to denying review,” Ginsburg said. “There were important issues in these four cases that we were unable to decide, and they will come back again and one of them was the president’s immigration policy.”
As brilliant as our forefathers were, I guess they never envisioned a scenario whereby one branch of government would renege on its Constitutional obligations.
Put it another way, there’s a reason NBA and MLB playoff games go a maximum of seven games, and not six. Because it’s crazy to have a series end in a tie. And as important as that is for sports, it’s doubly important when it comes to interpreting laws for society.
… a bunch of odious partisan hacks would put party above the well-being of the country.
Apologies M`Dear , but that goes without saying .
Make the Vice President the deciding vote, same as in the Senate, the outcomes would be basically the same as having either Party stack the court to gain an advantage but the deciding vote wouldn’t be a lifetime appointment.
Win the Presidency, control the court.
