Insane.
Great work @samt !
Vat Squirrel said!
Important. More important than the 100kâs worth of ads distraction.
And this feels very âtip of the icebergâ/âyank on the thread and unravel the tapestryâ to me. (Slashes make metaphor mixing okay, right? Think thatâs in Strunk and White somewhere.)
What is most impressive to me in this is that this is actual investigative journalism being done â today â in Russia.
That is brave as shit. Good on TPM for getting it in front of American eyes.
This is like âThe Americansâ.
Lowering the term âuseful idiotsâ to whole new and far more dangerous depth.
Well done, you stupid, racist, GD deplorables!
Well, holy shit.
Dunno why twitter seemed less real and substantial, but it did.
And those were the ones actively recruited and paid by the Russians. Iâm guessing the Susan Sarandon, HA Goodman, Scott Adams and Tulsi Gabbard all worked for free to undermine the election last year.
But NOTHING will be done by the Trump Administration about this âŚ
Wow, there are a couple of names I had hoped to never hear or read again.
eliminate russian troll farms impacts on US elections, eliminate foreign money in US elections, promote publicly funded elections
I imagine youâre right. HA was awful rabid but I guess maybe thatâs who he is. I donât know and I donât want to know and I hope I never see that name on an article or post again.
I donât think the focus on $100k in ads was a distraction. I think that was yet another part of the iceberg showing and this was all part of a bigger thing. And the bigger thing is that Russia is trying to tear us apart using extremism so we hate the other side and too many Americans are happy to play along; including liberals who enjoy insulting Trump supporters.
Iâll be surprised if we donât learn that these people were somehow funding talk radio as well. Not necessarily big dogs like Limbaugh, but the little guys that nobody notices. Theyâre the ones who promote the talk about race wars and revolution the most, all in the name of supporting the REAL America.
Putin trolls easily infiltrated our social network, and appear to be fully entrenched today. A percentage of our electorate demonstrated how easily theyâre influenced by what they see on social media without regard to its origin or basis in fact.
Which is more frightening? How devious they are or how willfully ignorant some of us are?
Yes.
say like, INFOWARS?
Youâre saying theyâre not worthy of it?
So was everyone unwitting?
Yeah, well, it isnât just liberals, my dear. Itâs the entire rest of the population who arenât in the 26% of the electorate who voted for him. You will find loads of independents who will agree that the people who voted for Trump are just as bad as he is, they did it for extremely bad reasons and they created the division and the hate.
We did not.
And nothing will be done by this GOP-led Congress either, even if this shit is currently ongoing, staring them in the face, and leading up to our next set of elections. The article twice referenced these efforts have been ongoing well into 2017. Its unfathomable to me that nobody in our government or any agency responsible for protecting the electorate from foreign influence is doing nothing about this, has no budget to go after this invasion, and is leaving it up to journalists to uncover this mess, only to be ignored by the powers that be.
We are being invaded by aliens.
