He was quoted as saying that “they have one-sided justice, and it turns out that you can hang the blame on anyone.”
“Even the guilty,” he added.
So which one is the real Mrs. Malaprop, Lavrov or the interpreter? Blabber that sounds like a new nickname for 45.
Believable because criminals never ever lie, right?
Or, as Lavrov’s agent would say: “Fake News.”
Many pages further into this exhausting saga following laughing Lavrov’s Oval Office strut, Washington and Moscow may turn out to be similarly devastating for those having to retreat after invading.
Is that all he’s got? “Just blather”? Eff you Lavrov.
First - I am having a moment - there is a Trump Official who said something I found hilarious and agreed with:
McMaster also scoffed at the suggestion that the U.S. would work with Russia on cyber security issues.“I’m surprised there are any Russian cyber experts available based on how active most of them have been undermining our democracies in the West,” he said to laughter.
I enjoyed reading that.
Then I remembered - his Boss, publicly (I think), declared that we WOULD work jointly with the Russians on cyber issues back in the Spring. If Dotard catches wind of this - it might spark some ire - the tweaking at his buds (and patrons) the Russians.
It’s the Kremlin version of “Says who?”
I’m disappointed the AP reporters did not quote this response from one of the defendants:
“The Americans are very emotional people, they see what they want to see. I have great respect for them. I am not at all upset that I am on this list. If they want to see the devil, let them."
Thus spake this man, not-the-devil Evgeny Prigozhin:
Dear Sir,
We, the servants of Donald The Great, are doing everything we can to hand over our state secrets to you and Mr. Putin in a timely fashion.
We are so, so terribly sorry that the lingering Cold War Deep State has impugned the reputation of Russia, civilization’s highest achievement, or so says our Dear Leader.
Please be patient and understanding. It’s such a big country to tear apart though.
Devotedly,
America
P.S. Any movement on finding those Hillary emails yet? Just wondering. It’s okay if you need more time.
Donald the Terrible, just like Ivan.
Is sonofabastard a word?
“I have no response,” Lavrov said.
No need to state the obvious.
The BBC recorded it as “blather”. So I suspect it’s neither Lavrov nor the translator, but AP.
“Just like my friend President Putin, these Russians strongly denied it, and I think they are sincere when they say that. So, you have to keep that in mind.”
Sounds just like a GOP rep who will blabbering some time within the next week or so.
Clearly these people have no idea what the justice system in the United States is like or what a grand jury is.
They seem to think it is just like Russia where the government makes whatever charges it wants and evidence is not an issue. They don’t seem to realize that in the US, before an indictment is handed up by a grand jury, sufficient evidence has to have been presented to indicate that there is a case to be answered.
Lavrov argued that U.S. officials, including Vice President Mike Pence, have said no country influenced the U.S. election results.
Oh, well then….tis must be so if Mr. Pence said thusly. (FFS…)
And extra points for handed up.
