Discussion: Rumsfeld Has 'Absolutely No Idea' If He Filed His Taxes Correctly

Discussion for article #221299

Of course Don Rumsfeld would have personal letterhead, and gosh, kinda dreary, cliché letterhead at that.
I’m guessing thousands of humans and animals were killed in the heavy rag’s manufacture without Don’s notice?

Henny penny taxes! Did I file them correctly? File under “known unknowns.”

If only rich people didn’t have to pay taxes he wouldn’t have this problem. And of course if anyone else sent a letter like this it would be an immediate flag for an audit.

“This note is to alert you folks that I know that I do not know whether my tax returns are accurate,” Rumsfeld wrote, employing his signature locution.
That he knows that he doesn’t know?? Some smart guy he is.

In this single case I would agree with Rummy that the tax code could be simpler than it is. Now having said that may I wash my mouth out with caustic lye. And I would sincerely hope he hops the next jet to the Hague for a little trial.

“Reports that say that something hasn’t happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don’t know.” -Donald Rumsfeld

He doesn’t realize it, but he’s just confirmed Earl Morris’s takeaway - that his MO is to couch and equivocate, appear to take both sides and always have a fallback blame deflector. What a prince.
