Discussion: Rubio: White House Backed Immigration Plan ‘Not Going To Pass’ In The Senate

The immigration “plan” was never meant to be law. It’s a sop to Trump’s white power voters and an item on which Dear Leaker can hammer Congressmen who oppose Him :facepunch:

Exactly
See …I’m doing stuff .
It’s not my fault if I’m blocked by those America Haters in Congress.

And while I’m at it I am so sick of the MSM cornering some mugwump Infowars listening doofus from nowhere central wearing a MAGA hat and telling me how great Donald is doing and presenting it like an actual “mood” in the country.
They’re fucking crazy and they’re 24%

Thank you , I feel better now

US politics is so useless, you’d think they’d agree on this stuff in advance. Seems like moving to a flexible cap is sensible though and a pretty minor change.

says person from small European country that shoots itself in the foot by approving Brexit after being conned by the likes of Neil Farage

I hope Rubio will have the courage to vote as he says and not wimp out like he did on the previous immigration bill. A points based system is all well and good-it has worked very well in Canada, which has accepted close to 2x as many immigrants per capita than the US has over the last 20 years or so. The problem is the very low arbitrary limits, which show the complete lack of seriousness we ave come to expect from Drumpf.

There are millions of “colored” people who speak English very well. But Trump wants only white people. His racism is deplorable.

Haha first it’s Nigel, second that idiot has far more sway in your country than mine, third the idea that you have any deep understanding of issues involved in Brexit is rather, shall we say, implausible. Please feel free to educate me if you think otherwise.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

…but only if they are white, speak fluent English and have desirable skills."

No, the bill has nothing about race in it whatsoever as I understand it.

Lyin’ Little Marco still thinks he can thread the needle sufficiently to be a viable POTUS candidate in '20.

He’s mistaken.

First of all, Nigel was booted out of California for trying his secession of Cali plan there.
So…you’re wrong again.

I’m surprised they didn’t add or imply they must also have a good line of credit.

Your Prime Minister (still in office by a hair) seemed to understand it quite well when she was against it before she was for it, And now that the execution phase is underway, there do seem to be a host of issues that the pro-Brexiters glossed over and that they don’t have much of a plan to deal with. That does sound familiar…

Shorter Rubio…

Haha hadn’t even heard about that. Nevertheless that does not make my statement wrong. The fact he’d even try something like that and it would get significant press coverage speaks to his influence in your country. I wonder why on earth he chose California.

She took instruction from the electorate - she’s doing her job (not overly well, I’d agree, but david Davis who’s the guy actually in charge of negotiations is on top of his brief). There are some complex technical issues but nothing of particular issue - the muttering you probably hear over there are mainly adverse briefings from the pro-Eu side, who want to extract as much cash as they can before we leave. Cooler heads will prevail in the end, but at the moment the Europeans have taken things a bit too personally.

…and Ukky hijacks another thread.

No I am humbled by your incisive comments and obviously superior knowledge of US and World Politics.
I seriously doubt there is anything I could tell you.

Me too. I don’t remember the media pandering to Obama’s base and fretting so much about whether they were still with him. Fuck rump’s base.
