You, Marco and your Republican colleagues are largely responsible for this mess. You helped stymie recovery and have consistently glibly mischaracterized President Obama who tried lead us in a far-sighted way toward fairness; hence, you fueled anger. Add Trump to the failure to call him out early and you have lighted the match. Add media fecklessness, self-interest, and capitulation (“Trump may not be good for America, but he sure is good for business”) and now a conflagration threatens us. Unfortunately, once such a fire has been started, there is fuel enough in each of us to consume us all. We now desperately need a bucket brigade of common good-hearted citizens to quench the flames. And we need leaders who will remove the tinder and hide the matches. This is a time for Gandhi, Mandela, and King, not arsonists. You are clearly not any of the first three, but you did choose to play with fire

Marco, it’s not a double standard, it’s Trump’s fan club. His voter’s do not care. It’s who they are. Sander’s voters and Clinton’s voters hold their candidates to a very high standard. And hey, Marco, it’s your party and they have been descending into that cesspool for a long time.
