Discussion: Roy Moore leads Doug Jones In First Post-Thanksgiving Alabama Poll

IF Moore wins then Alabama will have fully earned its reputation as the most backward state in the Union.

Of course he does! He’s got the full support of the Kremlin.

I can’t imagine a worse methodology to poll a by-election driven by zealots on the one hand and regular partisan voters repulsed by their party’s candidate on the other.

On the other hand, Alabama.

Even if this scum goes on to lose, the fact that he’s not 50 points behind in the race at this point demonstrates the moral bankruptcy of the modern Republican party.

If Moore wins, he will instantly become the most immoral, unethical, dishonest, corrupt, un-American, loathsome creep in the US Senate.
And that’s saying something.

This is a spiritual battle in Alabama. Will the people of Alabama support the politics of Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub, as embodied by Moore & Trump, or will they vote for a candidate who opposes the politics of hate, division, arrogance promoted by Moore & Trump ? Will the citizens of Alabama reject a candidate who is accused by many women of sexual abuse/pedophilia, and is supported by a President who has also been accused of sexual abuse, a self-proclaimed adulterer, a proud to be pussy grabber ? or will partisan politics win out over common decency and common sense ? Will this be the political sequel to Faust by Goethe ?

Ted Cruz will not give up this " distinction " without a bitter fight.

Alabama stands with White Pedophile.

Haha no. Do you really think Mississippi and Oklahoma are just going to lay down and give up that title without a fight?

If Moore wins it shows Trumps win was not a Republican fluke. It also brings up the curious question of why are Dem politicians roasted for sexual misbehavior and Republicans (lead by Trump) given a free pass for sexual assault?

Moore leads Jones by 49 percent to 44 percent in a new online survey from Change Research, reversing a small 3-point lead Jones had held in the pollster’s first survey after the allegations against Moore surfaced two weeks ago.

I have no faith in “online” surveys. More often than not, they’re targeted click-bait, just slightly increasing their integrity if they are not conducted through Facebook.

I will be pleasantly surprised if Jones wins, yet I won’t be all that broken hearted if Moore wins. Just as Republicans spent '10 and '14 tying liberal Pelosi and Reid to every Democrat, we’ll spend '18 tying every Republican to child molesters Moore and PP. I’ll take take “coastal elite liberal” over “kiddie diddler”.

Jesus fucking Christ.

EDIT: once I read past the headlline, I too saw that it was an online poll of self-reported registered voters by a pollster 538 hasn’t heard of. Still, even those people supporting Moore shouldn’t be able to look themselves in a mirror.

It has nothing to do with Republican Party and everything to do with people. That party represents the people who are ( and have been for a long time) morally bankrupt among other nice traits such as proud bigot.

The politics of hate and division are what brought them to power. They’re sticking with that.

This type of behavior is not that uncommon within religious Republican households. Therefore, they see nothing wrong with it.

Common decency and common sense are what the white Republican establishment say they are. End of discussion!

No. Second verse, same as the first.

I disagree. If Moore wins it shows that deeply Republican Alabama is still deeply Republican Alabama. If this election was in a lean Republican state, I’d certainly agree. It’s not, though, it’s in one of the reddest states in the country and we shouldn’t be surprised if that’s too much to overcome despite the allegations.

He’s a republican, the AL majority will vote for a dead republican before any democrat.

Republicans polled well in Virginia too. Let’s see what happens. Plus there’s talk of a rightwing write-in candidate. This election is very much on.
