Discussion for article #237995

Under what authority again?

How long until the federal marshals or the circuit court tell him he’s out of line?

The order issued was an “invitation” for parties to the gay marriage case pending in the Alabama Supreme Court to submit motions and briefs on the effect of Obergefell on the orders issued by in the Alabama case. The rehearing deadline in the Obergefell is what we in the law biz call “surplusage.” It has no connection to the order at all and was clearly just Moore ratfucking for the sake of ratfucking. (Which, of course, is now legal now that the Surpeme Court has abolished civilization and morality.)

The case Moore is trying to sow confusion with is dead-letter.

The dying ember of discrimination in marriage law which Moore is trying desperately to fan back to life.

Sad.

For Christs sake, Moore, go kiss a guy, deal with you inner sexual turmoil and stop being a dick.

according to the Human Rights Campaign, Moore’s interpretation is incorrect.

Not surprising considering he didn’t understand why legally he can’t park a 5,280-poundblock of granite with the Ten Commandments engraved on it in the courthouse. Though maybe does since he had the thing installed during the middle of the night without the knowledge of the other Alabama Supreme Court justices.

What they need is another good old fashioned war of northern aggression .

Contempt of court. Send in the National Guard.

I think these probate folks need to ask themselves who they think will win this little scuffle, once the dust settles: the Supreme Court of the United States, or Roy Moore?

It’s like a Band-Aid, people. Just rip it off and quickly get over your pain versus slowly peeling it off over three or four weeks. We’re gonna get married in Alabama, and the sooner you move toward that inevitability, the easier it will be not just for us but for you as well.

I prefer to launch an all out war of northern passive aggression.

To Judge Roy Moore: “Bless your heart, you’ve achieved so much for someone with such an obvious learning deficiency. I thought you knew that you could be held in contempt of court if defy the SCOTUS. Whatever.”

These backward, cracker simpletons like Roy Moore are simply crapping their Depends over a tiny portion of the populace having the same rights as the great majority of citizens. These bible-thumping reactionaries are fit to be tied and obviously willing to obstruct justice in pursuit of theocratic, Christianista rule. The good news, is that their hate-filled airship is ablaze, and plowing into the ground…

Oi, don’t disrespect the Hindenburg by implying it is filled with hate. It was filled with dreamers who believed in a world where we could cross the Atlantic in in just over half the time than it takes on a boat, in more cramped conditions, all the while being incredibly unsafe. If the Hindenburg hadn’t ignited, we might be able to take zeppelins from Albany to New York City today, and arrive at the Empire State Building terminal. And steampunks everywhere would be happy, instead of crying alone in their parents basement.

Courts can’t be held in contempt. Only parties.

Took three years of additional litigation before Alabama finally accepted Loving v. Virginia.

Here’s to hoping Roy Moore ends up in a Federal Penitentiary for contempt of a USSC ruling.

Just issue the licenses and DARE Moore to do something about it. It should be fun to see.

Really?? Oh, for Christ’s sake, when are the politically correct histrionics over comparative analogies going to end??? ‘Don’t disrespect rats’, ‘Don’t disrespect Neanderthals’, ‘Don’t disrespect lighter-than-air vehicles’, etc., etc., etc., on and on and on.

I mean that “Judge” Roy Moore should be held in contempt of SCOTUS.
