How much longer can Collins and Murkowski tap-dance?

Collins? Murkowski? C’mon Ladies, it’s not that hard.

I think Blunt is making this calculation: the only thing worse for the GOP in the midterms than losing this nomination would be to to force it through on a party-line vote and then have all the additional dirt come out before the midterms

Dirt that I’m thinking they may already know about.

These male GOP senators are making a political calculation to create a buffer against Anita Hill comparisons and #metoo energies being directed at them. When GOP senators inevitably release their misogynistic rage at Ms Ford in her hearing, they’ll try to hide behind the “fairness” they displayed in allowing her opportunity to speak in the first place.

And that will blow up like the biggest FFFFourth of July fireworks extravaganza!

Donald sees it as a personal affront that they’d deny a guy that molested woman from being a SC judge. Wonder why he takes it personally?

Besides Ms. Ford, the Senate really needs to have Kavanaugh’s buddy (??Judge is last name) who was in the room with Kavanaugh, attempting to force himself on her as well.

If I were a Republican Senator (which I am not) I would put the process on hold, conduct a “thorough investigation” and after the mid terms, pronounce there to be no substance to the charges without slandering the accused and then put the nominee up for a floor vote.

Blunt is making a political calculation because of the increasing role of women in politics, both as candidates, advocates, and activists, legitimately demanding to be represented and heard. In short, Blunt is trying to “blunt.”

The GOP men will try for a closed hearng to protect the witness. I hope Dr Ford insists on either an open hearing or 60 Minutes

I wonder if Blunt has had a talk with Danforth, who is as close to a conscience of the Missouri Republican party as you can get. Aside from never criticizing Clarence Thomas, Senator Danforth has been as sane as the party gets in this state.

I swear on either Sat. or Sun. I heard Blunt quoted on local NPR station a quote that almost was a “boys will be boys” and “it was so long ago.” I’m hoping that his change of heart is that his office is getting quite busy answering his phones, refilling his fax machine, and reading his constituent’s email replies. I don’t hold out any hope that no matter what testimony Ford gives or further explanations Kavanaugh gives that he won’t vote the party line.

Danforth is losing his grip on Missouri Republicans. Which does put Roy in that proverbial position between a rock and a hard place.

You know, I’d be hard pressed to come up with a Repuglican who isn’t right there between Scylla and Charybdis just because he or she is a Repuglican - there isn’t an issue they are able to win on. Not one.

Judge is a well-established teenage alcoholic who’s published multiple books (including at least one old enough to be out of print) documenting his large stretches of blackout drunk memory issues from that time period. Hauling him in to testify will get a whole lot of ‘I don’t recall, I was probably drunk.’

I thought so – and that should lead to a whole lot of push for Murkowski, Collins, Flake, Corker and the red-state Democrats to announce their non-support for rapey judge.

It could pierce some of his pseudonyms.
