Sounds like a canned response…

Ross and Sen. Orrin Hatch are dotty as heck, they don’t know up from down.

Gee, any and all excuses! Answer the frikken’ question, dummy!

Wait, Wilber Ross uses email?

… First, Ross said he couldn’t answer her question without a copy of the email in front of him, and it took staff several minutes to find a copy to give to him.

Seriously? They didn’t have this gamed out and a copy ready? SMH.

Isn’t it funny how it’s difficult to lie convincingly when literally every fact revealed to the public lines up against your bullshit? I mean, just for this one example… the email indicates no such thing about said phone call. The opposite, if anything. And even if it did, Ross obviously was fully aware of what was discussed on said call, so the point is irrelevant

At this point, if Ross just came out and said ā€œlook, I really wanted to get this question on the census, because I don’t like it when ā€˜the coloreds’ have any role in allocating fundsā€, I’d give him grudging respect points for showing some shred of honesty. That’s how low the bar is now.

Yes, that’s right. Open a checking account at the Bank of Cyprus and get a free can of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a total idiot. God, can we get her off the committee and get someone who knows how to question witnesses on in her place?

What lies old men tell.

To paraphrase Ross’ initial comments, ā€œmany departments ask us, in writing, to add questions to the companion ACS, not the census. So we asked the DOJ to cover my ass and ask for a citizenship question on the census itself (not ACS) the justification being the now largely defunct Voters Rights Act."

Additionally, ā€˜citizenship’ and ā€˜country of birth’ questions are completely different animals, so no, citizenship was not on the census for 180 years, 1820 - 2000 as old man implied. Citizenship was last asked on the census in 1950 of foreign borns, but not 1960. 1970 began two census forms: 80% of recipients got the short form (no citizenship) and 20% got the long form (includes literally the kitchen sink and citizenship questions). About 2005, ACS replaced the long form, and included citizenship.

The Constitution specifies counting citizens and non-citizens. The only time citizenship was asked of all peoples was 1950. And now, maybe 2020.

Completely off topic, but I am amazed at how unprofessional and typo-ridden Trump’s crew’s emails (and other written materials) all end up being once they end up being made public.

I work in a software company and am myself a software engineer by trade. We software folk are not known for our command of the written word. Yet, were I to get an email as typo-ridden as Wilbur Ross’s I would bring it up in the next performance review. Heck, even if it was from one of our offshore resources such imprecision and sloppiness would be grounds for a stern talking-to.

Amazing that this is the caliber of the ā€œbest peopleā€ Trump could find to fill his cabinet of sycophants.

Well, when all the majority can do is hunt and peck, you can’t really expect them to have time to go back and proofread too.

I will be 70 soon (within days). I am always mindful of my expiration date. I hate these old white mother fuckers in this criminal administration with every fiber in my body, not only because they are goddamn evil assholes but because I grew up with them, and always hated them, and it destroys me that they are still in power. I am so sad that people like this mother fucker represent my generation, still. I thought we flushed them out during the Obama Administration but they seem to have superpowers. I am tired of losing sleep over these creeps. We need to throw rump out in 2020. We can do it. Yes we can…

Like most of the current WH crop, Ross has been emptied of everything but greed and self-preservation: little wonder he can’t explain himself, there is no human content left; if you shook him he would rattle.

What a fu*king liar. Send this loser to jail. He’ll be there with lots of ā€œformerā€ members of this sad sad administration.
