We can speculate whether Rosenstein had leverage when he walked into the WH to meet with the chief of staff at the outset. Trump’s deference ever since indicates so.

The crocodile is especially motionless when prey is near.

Trump will fire Rosenstein after the midterms, no matter the results. He’s betting Dems won’t take off the gloves and that McConnell can protect him.

“The House Judiciary and Oversight committees called for Rosenstein to come back to Congress…”

Rest assured…

“After the midterms”, Chairman Nadler and Chairman Cummings will have much better things to investigate.

(As will Chairman Schiff.)

No doubt that’s what this is about: circling the wagons. There can be no doubt that, to the Congressional Rs, that Rosenstein, member Federalist Society, is much more one of us than one of them. They’ll desperately need his kind on board when the house flips.

So right about the time Dotard fires him, then?

They really can’t find a way to spin this as an election positive for the R 's so they’ll wait.

Also, they called Comey in a few weeks ago and he said sure but only in an open session. The committee declined and didn’t call him after all.

What are you trying to tell me? That I jaguars can dodge bullets crocodiles?

I’m saying that gators think they’re big and bad, but there are sleek and wiley predators out there that remind nasty crusty old gators that they are not the top of the food chain.
