Whooooeeee. It’s one hell of a mornin’!
The story is by Michael Schmidt, Senior Political Gossip Columnist for the NYT. It’s possible someone at the WH wants to stir up trouble. It wouldn’t be the first time that NYT columnists were “used”. We’ll see.

I wish they had. Maybe they did. Hope Rosie lasts the weekend.
Considering that abject submission to the Mighty Trumpanzee, fawning, toadying, and self-abasement are required of all Cabinet members in this “administration” it’s hard to see how the 25th could get invoked.
There is truth in sarcasm.
Well Rod, it was good to know ya!
Ho. Lee. Shit. He’ll be gone before Happy Hour.

My god the republic is so doomed
Why is the NYT’s reporting this story? It creates further credence in the firing of Rosenstein.
God damn, I’m getting sick of their political reporting.
On the other hand, the Mango one hates anonymous sources, so perhaps he’ll overlook this as “FAKE NEWS!!!”
I do not want the NYT deciding what to report or not report based on what might be the political implications. If it’s true, it’s absolutely a matter of public interest and importance.
This is NOT good news!
The Times has gotten burned before by fake “leaks” from the Rudy circle. Remember “FBI concludes its investigation of Trump”?? They’ve never explained that one.
This story is, as of now, very untrustworthy.
Because it’s what they do. Stir up the pot. Gossip mongering. The NYT has some really fine journalists, but some in their political division are abominable.
I believe Rod’s statement. Maybe I’m just numb to it all.
This definitely looks like a backstab; and yet another attempt to claim the Mueller investigation is “poisoned at the source” to justify shutting it down and ignoring its conclusions. I can see Rosenstein being very disturbed by how he and his memo were used, but this is more disturbing for what it seems to be trying to do vis a vis Rosenstein and the Mueller investigation than about what Rosenstein is supposed to have done/said/been willing to do.
This is clearly a planted story to give Trump an excuse to fire Rosenstein. Once again the NYT is getting because they are stenographers rather than reporters. And just as it was with the Iraq War, their gullibility and stupidity is going to create a tragedy for the United States.
If they don’t, someone else will. I’d rather see the NYT breaking this than Breitbart doing it and getting credit for it later.
Lets start a pool on how long after Trump reads this that Rosenstein gets fired.
I’m taking 23 minutes.
