Probably knows he’ll be fired/forced to resign/pushed out anyway

Maybe (hopefully) he knows something is coming soon via the Mueller investigation making it safe for his departure?

Well done, Rosentein. You will leave relatively unscathed and with your head held high - something few who served with this administration can say.

“If” Barr is confirmed.

Has Trump fired Miller yet?

let us not forget he authored the memo to fire Comey. Perhaps there’s a backstory that needs to see the light of day.

His entire career has been in DOJ, US Attorney, and Starr investigation. “Only planned to serve two years in administration…” yeah right.

He’s got three future paths as I see it.

  1. Try to cash in in private practice. (Have fun imagining who his clients would be.)
  2. Get an early start on his book, so he is ready to publish when the Mueller hammer drops.
  3. Change his name to Ed Chigglyak and move to Deadhorse, Alaska.

He will leave in coming weeks. Says tRump, you’re out of here today buddy. And, thanks for your service.

Oy…that’s a tad worrisome.

I remain a BIT skeptical on this supposed news. First, Rosenstein currently fills a Senate confirmable position at DoJ, but he’s spent his entire career there. So you wouldn’t figure him to leave unless he’s been promised something. Second, ABCNews has a very dubious even checkered history in reporting on insider Beltway news, particularly Jon Karl. And we’ve see how this White House goes about things like this, planting stories about X or Y leaving shortly when they’re actually sending a message to GTFO NOW before some Trump flunky or minion does the dirty work.

On the other hand, Rosenstein is a real lawyer, conservative by inclination and Republican by registration, but legitimately academically inclined and administratively able, with a history at DoJ that goes beyond just flying a desk. He was senior to Obama at Harvard Law Review), and joined DoJ with the intention of carving out a career there. It’s not uncommon for senior DoJ types to leave to go into private practice or academia for a few years in hopes of their names being put up in a few years for a federal court life-time appointment, but it’s not like Rosenstein is in particular favor with Trump.

I do like the speculation Rosenstein is jumping ship before the iceberg hits. But we’ll just have to wait and see.

That’s a lot of “Senate confirmed” positions that will have to be filled. I wonder if members of the Senate are waking up to shitstorm that is coming?
And with all these “acting” heads of agencies that are in place means less time to confirm “conservative” judges, so sorry Mitch.

Any connection to the new report of Manafort collusion so undeniable that even Hugh Hewitt is acknowledging it as evidence? Regardless, I just don’t think it is feasible to suppose that Trump can squash the Mueller investigation at this stage, regardless of what happens with Rosenstein.

And Mueller does not know about this

Riiiiight…

Wow, not the news I expected this morning. Kinda scary, if we’re being honest.:flushed:

I thought he is out of the “chain of command” in that respect already? Mueller dos not report to him any more, nor can he protect him in anyway.

I saw miss that show :frowning:

Now that there’s a friendly Dem House of Reps, they can protect Mueller or move the investigation under their aegis (or whatever the proper terminology is), correct?

until he felt that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation was either completed or close enough to completion that it could not be interfered with.

If this story is true , the above is the mostest interesting part.
