This should be a looooong process.
Doubt the Republicans will agree.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein this week asked all 93 U.S. attorneys to provide up to three prosecutors each from their offices to help review documents needed for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaughâs confirmation.
âŚ
The Times reported that Rosenstein wrote he âexpected to need the equivalent of 100 full-time lawyers to work on Judge Kavanaughâs confirmation hearing,â in the paperâs words.
93 * 3 = 279
279 - 100 = 179.
For what are the other 179 attorneyâs needed?
ETA: As @cervantes noted they arenât all FTE (full time equivalents). So 279 attorneys working part-time equals 100 FTE. Thanks!
The 279 will not be working full-time on this project.
But, it would be a longer process without 100 extra attorneys. Not sure this is a good sign.
Well, if my earlier prediction about a nominee had born fruit, the process would have been even longer. Imagine having to watch and transcribe all those hours of Judge Judy!
Could Rosenstein know something we donât? That is, may be he thinks that the good Senators need all the available information at his disposal?
These are real questions. Just seems heavily weighted to guaranteeing the release of records before confirmation, and I also would guess that Republicans wonât care if the records are all out or not regardless.
MeanwhileâŚa lie under oath with a paper trail might change the outcomeâŚ

Kavanaughâs time as a button man for Ken Starr should provide for some prime pickinâs.
Trump:
Documents? We donât need no stinking documents. The loyalty oath has been signed, let the coronation begin.
Colbert had a good bit on Kavanaugh last night
Sounds like Brett may have some âsplaininâ to do.
Not really.
Everyone already knows IOKIYAR
Iâve become so damned cynical I doubt anything will stop this little âbutton man for Ken Starrâ â as one TPMer called him â from confirmation. Interesting that the social dynamics among these pricks are essentially those of organized crime.
"⌠lying under oath during a Senate hearing. "
Apparently that can be a problem⌠if you havenât previously been a Senator.
No problem lying under oath. Meh. I havenât read anywhere that McConnell is limiting questioning to 90 seconds or so for Democrats so Iâm wondering if there are time limits. Iâm sure they will be used, if so âŚ
From the linked article, â[Durbinâs] letter to Kavanaugh which explains that the judge had lied to the U.S. Senate about his knowledge of the Bush White Houseâs detention and torture of enemy combatants.â I think his sponsors will remind the honorable Judge Kavanaugh that the detention and torture program was a matter of national security that he was not authorized to discuss with the US Senate.
The attorney behind Rosenstein in the picture is Beelzebub Incarnate, the Evil Ed OCallaghan, he of the Sara Palin Troopergate Emails FOIA Request Stonewall until well after the Presidential Election that year. People should know so that they can shield the eyes of their children when he walks by. .
⌠in which case, his response to the question should have been, âFor reasons of national security, Iâm not at liberty to discuss that.â
There goes the nationâs crime rate. TRUMP: SOFT ON CRIME!
