I has an uncle (by marriage) whose son changed his name from an obviously-Jewish surname to a pretty-WASPy-sounding surname, just so he could get into a local country club.

I thought, and think, that he was an asshole (to put it nicely) for doing that, but at least he didn’t do it because of something as innocuous as “derisive comments” from a pathologically-lying, hyper-narcissistic, moronic, evil motherfucker.
