Yep. It really isn’t that hard to imagine. Give real, soul-shaking thanks to the fact that we’ve got two hundred years worth of democratic institutions against which Trump’s authoritarian instincts have to batter, rather than fifteen years.

I remember people in school pondering the Holocaust and asking how could the “good Germans” let this happen?

We have a living example of how this happens now in America.

40% of American supports him (10% generally support the “economy,” 20% are totally satisfied with “trump fulfilling his campaign promises” and 10% are gleefully cheering on the evil that is growing)

Add in the `20% who are apathetic/undecided and the 10% who want to “give him a chance. You’ve got to support any president” and the remaining 30% are in a scary place.
