Shame about Romney, really. Smart and talented man. My hardcore-liberal wife lived in Mass. throughout his governorship there and to this day has very positive things to say about him. But he lacks moral fiber, backbone, whatever, and it makes him flip and flop with far less panache than great politicians can manage.
I’m sure he’ll win an he’ll be another one of those R’s who express “concern” and “disappointment” with Trump, while voting lockstep with the goons to enact all Trump’s fiendish goals.
I’d argue that a lot of folks that came here didn’t come for religious freedom so much as to be in charge of the religion. And once here became the persecutors.

The Senate needs some new blood and fresh ideas so I hope he does run. What? He’s 70? Oh for fuck’s sake…

And I can rightfully and truthfully call him a civil rights champion because, I believe, he shook Mia Love’s hand once. Mighty white of him.

Romney could have called out Trump back in 2012 when he sheepishly accepted his endorsement. Mind you this was in the midst of Trump’s Birtherism.
He might have a decent moral core but then he pulls stuff like this as well as “double Gitmo” and “self deportation”
