Discussion: Romney Discusses 2016 Presidential Race, Criticizes Both Parties

Discussion for article #232360

Mitt Romney said Wednesday night that political leaders in both parties are failing to address the nationā€™s most pressing problems ā€” climate change, poverty and education reform, among themā€¦

Hilarious. He obviously didnā€™t get the memo from the G.O.P. base, which explains very clearly that thereā€™s no climate change, that poverty is the fault of the poor, and that the only way to reform education is to turn it all over to Christian fundamentalists.

It would also seem that heā€™s never met any Democrats.

Getting a loan from your parents is not the answer to fixing poverty. Mitt new concern for the poor is more than amusing.

Why are our plutocrats using our democratsā€™ talking points?

Mittens has certainly contributed his share to growing poverty. But what the hey, we can all use the chuckle.

No, jackass, Rethugs are failing to address all these issues and standing in the way of a president wanting to do something about them.

FLIP - 2012 Romney: ā€œIā€™m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, Iā€™ll fix it. Iā€™m not concerned about the very rich, theyā€™re doing just fine. Iā€™m concerned about the very heart of the America, the 90 percent, 95 percent of Americans who right now are struggling.ā€
FLOP - 2015 Romney: ā€œLetā€™s deal with poverty. Have we done it? No. Letā€™s do it.ā€

Soā€¦ heā€™s running as Walter Mondale, then? Hey, I guess no oneā€™s tried it in 30 years, so why not, right?

When I read that, I honestly thought he was running in the Democratic primary.

Perhaps, - heā€™s confused?

One hyphenated word, ā€œPuh-leez.ā€

Heā€™s the same ole Mitt. Heā€™ll say anything he thinks he needs to to get ahead without ever caring if what he is saying now conflicts with past statements. In other words heā€™s a big fat liar.

Itā€™s so transparent. He thinks he lost the race in large part, because of ā€œ47%.ā€ Therefore, the answer is to appear like he actually cares about his 47%. Never mind that there never was a 47%; that it exists only in the minds of right-wingers.

It would be the height of hypocrisy for Romney to deny climate change after making a career of adapting to it.

This guy isnā€™t running for Presidentā€¦ heā€™s auditioning for a TV show ā€˜Keeping Up With The Etch-A-Sketchā€™.

Mitt! Want to help with income inequality? Take that multimillion dollar Roth IRA you got using devious means and give it to charity. That would be a start.

Exactly, his statements are so far from reality. Obama proposed so many ideas to help poor and middle classed people throughout the recession, and all they could do is obstruct.

He is simply trying to hook into the BS, ā€œthird-wayā€ mantra that there is no difference between the parties.

The ball is in Kochsā€™ hands. Now it is up to Charles and David Koch to decide who the Republican voters want as their presidential nominee. They have anointed the Republican candidates for Republican voters successfully for over six election cycles now.

ā€œHis evolving platform comes as he works to reshape his image after consecutive presidential defeats.ā€

Thatā€™s the thing with Mittā€¦his platform is ALWAYS ā€œevolvingā€ based on his perception of what the audience wants to hear.

Of course, its all just so much window dressing. Romneyā€™s idea of helping the poor is to cut taxes for the rich.
