House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has famously joked that he thinks that Rohrabacher is one of two people, besides President Donald Trump, that he believes “Putin pays” to do Russia’s bidding.
That’s absolutely hilarious. Because it’s true.
Um, not to steal the thunder from babycannon, but a sitting Republican member of Congress is being functionally sanctioned by the House of Representatives for being too lovey-dovey with the Russians, while there is an active investigation into the Russians tampering with US elections to benefit a Republican president
That’s kind of a BFD.
What IS wrong with these jackholes? Really? If they WANT to be Russian and hang with the traitors in London and Israel that have left and joined up with authoritarian despots why doesn’t he just GO???

It interests me that as corrupt as they all are, some of them are so dirty, so toxic, so obviously guilty and drifting toward serious indictments that the others want to stay clear. It’s like there’s an unacknowledged line—you’ll carry water for traitors, and try to stay afloat in the stormy political seas, but not to the point of your own legal jeopardy. That interests me a lot. It reminds me of the drugs as a plot element in “Goodfellas,” where certain type of rackets were tolerated but drugs would get you put away.
Why the fuk is he even on the committee? The Speaker doesn’t have to give him the committee assignments he wants and this is pretty clearly a bad choice for him.

I know people who knew him before he went into politics, said he’s dumb as a rock.
He just may not know his party’s history of Russian hating and commie baiting and so is dumb enough to cast his lot with the Russians.
He may not know that long before social media, Stalin and his successors up through Brezhnev, put a lot of resources into destabilizing governments around the world in Africa, So America.
Wow. Sounds like he’s this close to getting a letter of warning put in his file. I guess we have to wait for Mueller to indict him for treason before something that harsh happens to one of their own.
It is at least an indication that it is possible to be too corrupt/treasonous for the congressional GOP. I suppose curtailing his travel funds and hearing requests is a place to start. Call me when they expel him from the House.
Russia does not want them unless they can be of use. Rohrabacher is only of use to them in the House. He might be able to lobby for them, after he loses his seat. Doubt he would be effective.
FFS, this is just a small potatoes compared to the GOP’s inability to hold The Gilded One and his administration accountable for carrying out the veto-proof law he signed in August, that he still hasn’t taken any action on. The silence is deafening.
At least they are attempting to rein him in. I give credit to “Travel-Gate”, season 3. One thing Its Dreadfullness’s base gets is “jet-setting” on the taxpayers’ dime, and these Congresscritters do a lot of it. That Its creatures (aka the Cabinet and Its spawn) do so much is becoming a kitchen-table talking point for many people who keep having to defer their own trips to Nashville because they’ve got to pay rent.
Plus there is probably no other committee that will take him, and therefore no opportunities for “social” promotion.
